Owner description: The MIC offers a complete vision of the ceramic cultures belonging to any age and place; pieces from the Far and Middle East, from South America and all Europe allow the visitors to have a unique experience. It was founded in 1908 and now it preserves more than 60.000 ceramics, from antiquity to nowadays, all housed in great and suggestive architectural spaces. Ceramic masterpieces from the Renaissance, works by Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, Leger, Burri, Fontana and other innumerable examples of excellence, make the MIC a unique museum in the world.

This musuem is much larger and more extensive than I would have thought for such a small, off the beaten path town. They have ceramics from ancient times to modern works and not just from the area or Italy. You can easily spend many hours here. Worth the visit.

This is a fantastic museum, with incredible range of both Italian and International ceramics. It isn't to be missed!

Have been here twice. I could never tire of it. Probably the best collection in the world. We were fortunate on this latest trip to see a temporary exhibition of work selected from the 58th International Ceramics competition

We went on a Sunday and website and guide book said it was open at 9.30 but it didn't open til 10.00. That was our only complaint. Marvellous museum with huge collection from pre Colombian until the present. We walked for two hours, went outside for lunch, then back in for another hour. Would have been longer if feet and knees had allowed it. Very very highly recommended for anyone with an interest in ceramics.

We found this museum as we walked around Faenza. I didn't know much about ceramics, and wondered about a whole museum of them.

What a nice surprise. The museum is well organized, and the collections from different periods and regions are presented in a fascinating manner.

Faenza is a pleasant town, and we enjoyed walking around after our museum visit. Next time we're in the region, we're planning a return visit.
