We had not planned to stay in this hotel during our driving holiday. However our car broke down and we were towed off the road near Ferrara and were given this hotel by our breakdown insurance company.

The couple running the hotel are lovely. They were so helpful to us as we were literally stranded for two days whilst our car was fixed in a local garage. They phoned the garage for us to check on how long it was going to be etc. They told us the best places to eat and go and see whilst we were there. They could see we were upset and in a difficult position and handled it so well. They were so accommodating which made us feel a lot better about our situation at the time! A great experience.

The hotel itself is really nice. Simply decorated, clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was self service with cereals, scrambled egg, sausages, breads, pastries, tea, coffee, juices etc which was good.

These B&B Hotels are a chain in europe that are run by individuals (like a franchise I guess) and they provide great value. For two people it is 62 euros with breakfast about 7 euros each on top I think.

There is a great shopping centre opposite the hotel which stays open all day and until quite late at night. It has a supermarket in it but also high street shops.

If you are travelling in Italy and passing through Ferrara it is well worth a stay here.

Stayed in September 2012 and this was a pretty basic hotel. Staff spoke adequate English and were very helpful. Beds very hard, room cleanish with irregular times of services and you could never tell if you were first or last on the rota so could get an early morning call (pre-8am) or arrive back at 4.30 to find your room not yet cleaned. Basic quality bike hire from hotel OK. Breakfast plentiful and varied although only plain croissants available on one day due to mix up with order - boring! Bar prices expensive. Shopping centre very close which was a bonus as reasonable range of fast food could be purchased. Noisy but effective air-con but couldn't sleep with it operating. Garden/terrace closed so nowhere to sit/relax outside in the evening.

I have stayed in Nettuno before (back in 2010) and decided to stay there again on my recent trip back to Ferrara; boy was I disappointed. They took out the refrigerator from the rooms and placed vending machines in the halls that sells a small bottle of water and drinks for 2 Euro! It's 42 degrees outside without an ounce of humidity during summer so a fridge is definitely a necessity and not a luxury in this case. I also noticed that there were holes in the sheets and BLOOD STAINS on my pillowcase! Another important note to add is although they do clean the rooms daily, they DO NOT change the bedding until you check out and they DO NOT take out the trash (rubbish) until it is full. I can on and on with the details such as thin walls, VERY poor wifi reception (not complimentary), toilet flushes so strong it splashes the bathroom floor, etc...
but I'll leave this on a positive note: they have a nice assortment of pastries for breakfast (complementary) and the hotel is located across a mall (Il Castello) with has a few shops and restaurants for your basic needs.

In my opinion this is quite average and basic hotel. The rooms are quite worn out and nothing special but on the other hand the room rates are not very high either. And breakfast is included in the price.
In the room where I stayed the aircon did not work well..could not set it to cool the air.
The breakfast is good for Italian hotels (they had for example bacon and scrambled eggs). Also in the evenings you can enjoy good dinner in the hotel restaurant.Allthough the atmosphere is not the nicest and the prices also higher (as usual in the hotels) than in the restaurants of the old town.
The location of the hotel is couple kilometers from the old town.So if you are travellling with car this is ok as you can come and leave to the city quite easily. If understood correctly the hotel also rents bicycles so you may rent one to get to the old town easily.
There is also a large shopping centre just opposite to the hotel.

This hotel is far from the center of Ferrara about 2 kilometers by car! We stayed in two connecting rooms that were very large! We were two adults and two children!
Breakfast is very poor! We stayed just one night enough to visit Ferrara! Ferrara is well worth a visit is beautiful! Although not central the price is fantastic compared to other hotels in Italy! It is a good place to sleep without high demands!

Quiet hotel near Ferrara; attention from hotel's personel was very good, and the rooms were clean and quite big. The breakfast buffet was quite short, and there was no free internet available (3 €/hour!)
