Ferrara is just beautiful & absolutely deserving of its UNESCO World Heritage designation. Highly recommend for at least a day-trip visit but staying a bit longer is well worth your time. If you do stay, can't do much better than the Hotel De Prati for location, comfort & value. Hotel is located about 1 block from the Castle & about 2 blocks from the Palace, which is right in the center of town. Like previous reviewers, we loved this small but lovely hotel. Front desk service was very good & daily breakfast was good too. Our room was the top floor, 1 bedroom suite/apartment, with large, personal terrace. The latter was a great benefit as it had big table with umbrella & comfortable chairs for outdoor dining, or just relaxing at end of day; overlooked red tiled roofs for nice vistas. Both hotel & city were both winners!

Room Tip: Top floor suite for space, views, terrace - well worth it.

We recently spent 3 nights here. The location was excellent, less than 5 minutes from the Castello.
Our room was very clean and comfortable.
The breakfast was wonderful. The tea and coffee were freshly made to order. There was a good selection of things to choose including good quality fruit juice, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, a good fruit bowl, muesli, croissants, home made cake etc. There were also savouries such as ham, eggs and cheese.
The lobby, breakfast room stairs and landing were like an art gallery and the decor was very tasteful.
The hotel is run by two couples who are consistently pleasant and helpful.
I would recommend Ferrara as a fascinating place to visit and if we return we would use this hotel.

Our stay in Hotel De Prati was an unusual and wonderful experience not only because it was small and family run but because the walls were filled with original art work and every detail carefully planned. They gladly answered our questions we were eager to help in any way. The room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet considering we were only a few blocks from the center of the city. A free breakfast was provided with an amazing array of choices all of which were of top quality. We're so happy we learned about this place on Trip Advisor. Thank you to all who contribute to these helpful reviews.

Room Tip: Even though our room was facing the street, during the night it was quiet.

Central location, literally few steps from Castello Estense, street parking for a symbolic price (3 Euro), clean and quiet room, excellent coffee - what else do you need? The staff is friendly and helpful. Certainly recommended.
