The grounds are beautiful and the view of the sea is lovely. The front desk is very welcoming and we would return. The bed is very very firm which is fine with us but not for everyone. The rooms are very simple but we expected that for the price. The negatives are that the floors are hard surfaces everywhere so it is noisy in the morning, not for late sleepers; also children running around and noisy. The food and food service is mediocre, would not recommend eating in the restaurant if you have other choices. They messed up our order but we just ate it anyway as they were not attentive and the quality was very average; same with breakfast which at least was part of the room charge.

Room Tip: I would recommend staying on the top floor as it would be the quietest and definitely one with a sea...

We had a superior double room with sea view , halfboard, for three nights in early september 2013. Our room (no 26) was spacious with a balcony with a sun-umbrella and two chairs, room was made every time during breakfast. Evening halfboard dinner was good, the service was experienced, from the three dinners we had we had two great and one OK dinner (bad menue composition). But the kitchen and staff are flexible and we could change menu without extra costs. Selection of wine are good and offer for all budgets good choices.

You get beach towels at the reception for the beach. In front of the hotel is nice private beach, if you know how Italy works, then you should not complain about the costs of the umbrella and sun-bed / chair, it is worth for the stay there.

Punta Est is definitely a place where we will come back again for a short and mid term break in Italy. I think service is still good for the price level, but agree with some comments that in the near future infrastructure investments may be necessary to keep the quality level as is. But the location, the ocean view and the close beach access (even though private) are definitely an asset.

We visited Hotel Punta Est about 12 years ago and have always wanted to return. The hotel is much the same, in ambiance, but with excellent improvements to bedrooms and bathrooms. Breakfast buffet is excellent and eating on the terrace overlooking the sea is great. We also had dinner, served on the terrace, the choice was good and enjoyed the well prepared and presented food. A good welcome on arrival and all the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. There is a good size swimming pool with plenty of sun beds and on our visit we were almost the only ones there, although the hotel was fairly busy..
The hotel is opposite the large wide beaches, set on various levels. This could prove a problem for persons who have difficulty walking, or climbing stairs. However there is a bell at the street level gate entrance and a member of staff will come down and direct you in your car, to their car park, which is on an upper level, up a winding road to a gated area, then a few steps down to reception.
If weather should be bad there is a wonderful indoor dining room. There is also a large billiard room. The grounds and buildings are extensive, but as said on many different levels. After dinner your coffee is served in the bar, which has a large seating area overlooking the sea. All in all a very well run and relaxing hotel, well worth a visit. We stayed during the weekdays and missed the Friday night buffet and Saturday night barbeque.

The food is served with flair and imagination, with plenty of local dishes - they make their own olive oil and grow many of the vegetables, without pretense.
The rooms are well appointed and with good plumbing ( not always the case in Italy, even at this level)
Service is good. Don't miss the hot tub in the grotto, or a massage by the pool....

The Punta Est is beautifully located over viewing the sea. The food is excellent. The rooms are small but well furnished. The staff is extremely friendly. It is a very nice hotel for a long and relaxing weekend. To go down to the sea, you have to walk down about 150m and this is probably the only downside.

We stayed in august 2012 in a family room, ours was a large room with the bedroom and lounge separated by a curtain, with a large terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel is quite amazing for it's service and attention to detail. The restaurant food was always impeccable and whilst I wouldn't class it as a family hotel, I made our 2 and 7 year olds welcome. The beach is accessible by steps down to ground level and then a underpass. Beds are chargeable and hard to buy in august when most Italians have booked a whole weeks worth. The resort seemed to be 99% Italian holidaymakers - lovely atmosphere. The hotel pool is on a high terrace and is lovely, plenty of loungers and a shady grove to boot. The town is a 10 min walk along the promenade and the old town is. 10 min cab ride. The hotel even has it's own grotto with hot an cold spring water baths. All in all we loved it and although I never go back to the same place, we are going back this year!!

This is a beautiful and romantic hotel with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the sea of Finale where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had two communicating rooms in the old building, a mezzanine with small windows and we didn't really like them, since they were quite dark and we couldn't see the sea...we asked to change room but the hotel was full. The beds were really comfortable tough. The other rooms with big windows overlooking the terrace seemed really nice. There is a posh environment and it is in fact a bit pricey but the view and the eating in the open air make up for it. The food is ok and the breakfast could be richer.

Room Tip: Superior room with sea view is what you want
