I met a now good friend by the name of Dino in the deep Amazon and he invited me to visit him at his home in Follonica, Italy. Who knew Follonica even existed. But, I got the opportunity to visit and I took advantage of it. In the Amazon we had dined, so to speak, on Piranha, rice and watermelon. So, when I arrived in Follonica and he took me to this wonderful little restaurant, who knew Dino was such the aficionado of food and wine. This place was fabulous. The water, con gas, was unbelievably refreshing. Our sparkling wine, Monte Rossa, well, just incredible. We dined on some antipasta consisting of succulent raw shrimp, again who knew?!, but now I do. And the main course was a salt encrusted locally caught fish that was to die for....so, in the off chance you visit this quite unique town....then I very highly recommend you experience this little restaurant. The chef and owner and his wife are delightful, engaging and will deliver a memorable experience.
