“Lago di Garda - exquisite”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

Lovely clean lake with stunning surroundings. Stony banks and inlets, interesting villlages around the lake. Fantastic trip up the east side mountains (Monte Baldo) gives a fab view. Low level slight cloudy when we went up but didn't stop us experiencing the lake from a great height. Beginning to feel a little over-commercialised in some of the towns around the lake which is a shame.

I could spend hours staring at the lake! Would highly recommend renting a little peddle boat and exploring the lake as this was the highlight of the holiday for me.

“Stunning and relaxing”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

The north of the lake is breath-taking with the combination of lake and mountain views. The 'Lake Hopper' ticket is very good value for town hopping in the north (around 18.50euro). Main towns that I would highly recommend to visit.

1: Limone (chilled and picturesque)
2: Malcesne: Castle view from lake is beautiful, cable car up the mountain is nice, lovely cobbled streets
3: Riva: great for bathing, lake shore promenade is stunning and great for biking
4: Sirmione: In the south is very busy but the castle is picturesque

It is a three hour boat journey from the North to the South of the lake so do plan your visit wisely to get the most of your time.

The 'James Bond' route down the west coast of the lake has been named one of the most picturesque roads in the world.

“Breathtaking Beauty”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Some of the most beautiful scenery in the North of Italy can be found here. Every village and town has character. It is extremely crowded in the summer months and parking can be a real challenge. Many opt to swim in hotel pools, but I love the fresh water of the lake. It can be rocky in certain places, so it is best to bring aqua shoes.
