“Lovely hotel, but is it worth the money?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2007

This hotel is tranquil bliss, away from the bustle of the lake towns. You're in a lovely and atmospheric spot and it you want restaurants and shops, it's just ten minutes down the road. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, but be warned ... this is an expensive hotel. We paid €350.00 for large room with no view. The rooms which have lake views, have small windows and are pretty cramped rooms. Apart from that, everything was great. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but fellow guests had commented that it was good (but expensive). If you go, do breakfast on the terrace ... it's magic

Few day trippers passing through would be the only detraction from an otherwise perfect hideaway. That aside, really can't fault anything else about the hotel, the location or the room. All the staff were exceptional and would recommend without hesitation.

A fantastic place. Only 7 rooms - 4 doubles and 3 suites. We had a junior suite, so weren't expecting much, but we had a small house to ourselves with it's own good-sized garden and private entrance! The location is excellent - quite secluded and away from the worst of the crass touristy excesses of the southern-end of the lake. Tourists come to visit during the day, but it always feels private and they never seem to intrude. The hotel dates back a few centuries and this adds to the atmosphere. The staff were consistently exceptional. The food was consistently fantastic (if a little over-priced). Having breakfast on the veranda, all by ourselves, with the lake peacefully lapping up against the walls beneath us was a beautifully serene experience. Apparently Kings and Princes have stayed there and you don't have to be there long to figure out why. If you can afford it and are even vaguely romantic - go there!

this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. It is romantic, secluded, the service is impeccable and there is an aura of refined snobbery to the hotel... you will be treated like a king and your lady will love you for ever....

I stayed here on my honeymoon. The hotel is wonderful -- tiny, secluded, with beautiful views of Lago di Garda. Our room was extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished with gorgeous antiques. The bathroom was large, luxurious, and modern. The restaurant was also excellent -- they willingly accomodated our request for vegetarian choices. The second night we had a pasta appetizer of fresh white truffles shaved at the table over homemade pappardelle that I've never forgotten. I'd love to return some day . . . .
