We stayed here half board and had a great time. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The sun terrace on the first floor was a good place to sit and watch the world go by. The frog museum was fascinating and we actually bought a frog, the hotel donate a portion of the money to charity.
On the down side, the room was basic (although the bed was comfortable) and the shower cubicle on the small side, but we coped.

We went here for lunch and shared a pizza and a salad. It was the nicest pizza of the three we had in Italy. The staff did not haress you to have a sweet or coffee but just left us to sit and look at the frogs! The museum is quirky and I have never seen so many frogs. There is a big soft toy one in the ladies toilet, so di not go if you are frogafobic!

Room Tip: Only went to the pizzeria

The rooms are very basic but exceptionally clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The hotel is a little quirky with its frog museum but the staff and service from everyone was very good. It is right on the lake side and could be a bit noisy first thing on a morning when I suppose people are arriving and preparing for the day. If on half board the breakfast and evening meal (evening meal can be swapped for lunch)are taken in the attached restaurant we found the service and food to be very very good. Although the hotel does have a sun terrace there is no pool but there is an arrangement with another hotel for guests to use a pool but this is a twenty minute up hill walk. Would be put of using this hotel again for the lack of pool or nearer pool otherwise would not hesitate to recommend to others

Basic Italian room. Quite sparse, but there was a kettle, which was unusual from past experience. No tea or coffee supplied though.
CONS. NO LIFT and twenty two stairs to climb. Hard bed, but that's a matter of taste. Iffy electrics. Got the maid to change the broken multi-socket for the kettle. Light switches not very well maintained. Air conditioning on or off seemingly at random and off most of the night, which made sleeping very difficult. Shower hot/cold at random. Wifi very erratic. People at home wondering why no pictures were sent.
PROS. Very friendly staff. Quirky 'frog museum' lobby. Breakfast good and varied, laid out by excellent staff. Restaurant - undecided. Ordered a ham an cheese 'toastie' which arrived as ham and cheese stuffed into a folded pizza base. Odd.
