“Week in Garda”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

We stayed in this hotel in June 2014 as part of a package holiday. The hotel is in a great location right by the lake. the owner is very polite and welcoming, as are all the staff. We read reviews before we went and didn't ask for a lake view as reviews said you end up without one anyway, but it may be worth asking for a lake view. We had a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the road. It was quite noisy from cars and motorbikes, but we got used to it after one night. The room we stayed in was a little dated, but very clean, tidy and the bed was comfy. The hotel could do with some updating, but when considering what we paid, we were happy with the hotel. One slight negative was the lack of choice at breakfast. There is free wifi on request and the restaurant at the front of the hotel (owned by the hotel) is good and reasonably priced. There is aircon in the rooms but is charged at €7 per night. The room wasn't too hot so we didn't use the air con. All in all, we were pleased with our stay, but would have preferred a lake view room.

Room Tip: Try and get a lake facing room - quieter and better view.

We got there late in the evening, around 22:00, with no reservation, and were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist later accompanied by the owner. The owner informed us of the rates and what they include (breakfast etc.) When we told him we'd take a room, he asked us if we have a car and directed us to a private car park at the front. The reception attendant came outside to make sure we're not having trouble parking and asked if we wanted help with the luggage.

The room was very large, with a double bed and not twin beds though, with outdated (yet charming) yellow+flower wallpaper and one tiny picture on the wall of The Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. It was very clean, airy, spacious and included an AC, wardrobes, desk, TV etc.
The bathroom had a good shower, enough towels, toilet&bidet, hair dryer and everything one expects to find at an average hotel.

There's no question the real treat was the balcony, facing the lake. Great view during the day, lots of fresh air all around and as a smoker, a lovely spot to have the first and last cigarette of the day.
One drawback were the spiders on the balcony; I'm one of those people who don't mind a spider around them and even if there is someone around me who does, I just gently catch the spider and release it outside. But the balcony rail was something else, which even made me a bit uncomfortable.

And still, the room and service were great and the location beautiful, wouldn't mind spending another night there some day.

Room Tip: Lake-facing rooms have amazing views and no road noise

Would recommend this hotel very friendly very clean and a pleasure to stay. On arrival we were offered a free drink which was most welcome you have to pay for air con but we didn't need it as there is so much to see who wants to be in there room.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 2 3 are good rooms for balcony.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel June 4th 2014 for 1 week. Never again.
The room we had was small and pokey, at the back of the hotel, facing the main road, which was like a racing track. We could'nt open the windows, because of the noise.
We were told we would get free air conditioning, but it did'nt come on until 18.6.14, we would have to pay 7 euros a day to get it. The temperature was in the 80's.
The breakfast was cheap and nasty.
Wen we had early trips, a tray was left outside the room a t 9.00 p.m, with 2 slices of stale bread, jam and flask of luke wam water for tea, no milk or sugar. We had this once , then bought our own from the supermarket.
The television did'nt work, but we really did not want it.
The staff were unfriendly (apart from the evening waiter-nice guy).
Lake Garda is a beautiful place, choose a different hotel. NOT Conca D'oro

Room Tip: If you stay here, make sue you get a room overlooking the lake.

We were on a couples weekend during off season. We had adjoining rooms with patios, great place for bottles of vino and cappuccino in the morning. Be ready for 106 stairs from the road and 600 down to the shoreline, that was very beautiful.
The breakfast buffet was sufficient, typical and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice and accommodating, I would stay again in a heartbeat!

My wife and me and our daughter stayed there the beginning of September 2013 for 3 nights. We stayed there before a couple of times and planned to stay in the future as well. When we reached out to the hotel and asked what the rates are, he responded 45 euros per person per day. So we figured 90 euros total per day, makes 270 total. When we payed the night before it showed 120 per night. I asked why and got as an explanation that a girl with less than 2 years of age cost 30 percent of the room. So another 30 euros on top. First of all, this was never mentioned and 30 percent of 45 is not 30 euros. He based thus of the 90 euros for both of us. When I asked him about it he just shruck with his shoulders. I had exoected more. This was a rip off so beware of these hidden costs. Will look for another hotel there since they all charge the same for rooms. Could have been handled differently

Beech is litterly on your doorstep.fresh room service everyday, great rooftop terrace, I myself is a fryup morning person but didn't miss it one bit as the continental breakfast was more than enough and not to heavy. I will definitely be going back to garda and most definitely be same hotel.

Room Tip: Bak noisy through day, but who is in their room for any length off time through day.bak is cooler at...
