The hotel is well situated, just across the road from the lake front, shops, cafés and restaurants. It is very clean and the food and general service is excellent. Drinks in the bar are reasonably priced and the pool and garden area is a pleasant area to sit and relax and sun loungers are plentiful and always available throughout the day.
Note, the hotel does not provide towels for the pool area and there is no in-room tea and coffee making facilities. There is a well stocked fridge and the bath towels and toiletries are changed as required.
A very pleasant stay.

Just back from a lovely stay at the Continental. We had a room which opened on to the pool area which was great and a decent size for a family room. The hotel was kept clean throughout. The food was good and plenty of it, bar prices including mini bar were reasonable. Staff friendly and efficient. The location is great a few minutes walk from the ferry and 2 minutes to the front, you can cross the main road at the bottom of the road though its not always easy to cross or turn right at the Hotel Sole and use the underpass. There is a small supermarket just over the hill from the Sole which is fine but beware the fruit stall a little further along opposite the post office its looks wonderful but they choose the fruit for you and ours was mouldy! The boats are a great way to see the lake and visit the other villages. We only did one trip which was wine/olive oil tour we really enjoyed it and saw some wonderful scenery. My only negative feedback would be about the pool, the usual issues with towels being placed early but this seems to happen everywhere. The pool itself is lovely as are the gardens and the staff will bring drinks and lunchtime snacks to you, unfortunately the hotel allows guests at another hotel to use the pool and it is simply not big enough, one day the pool was clearly unsafe due to this. Over all its a great little hotel but they do need to sort the issue with the pool out.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms open onto pool

First time to Lake Garda. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Rooms were basic but adequate. Lovely swimming pool area but we didn't have many opportunities to make use of it due to the bad weather. On the few occasions we did use it we found it difficult to get a sun lounger in the sun due to towels being placed on loungers very early in the morning.

We stayed on half board basis . Food was excellent . Always a good choice. The service provided by the staff in the restaurant was outstanding. It was a pleasure to eat in the hotel.

Overall a good hotel. Garda is a lovely town .

Room Tip: Make sure you pay extra to get a pool .

Just returned from the Continental Hotel. We have stayed here before albeit 6 years ago and nothing has really changed. Most of the other guests we spoke to were also repeat visitors, most having visited for many occasions, so clearly the Hotel has a tried and trusted recipe for success.

The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, a true credit to the Hotel. It isn't really possible to single out any particular individual, however I will mention Nino who runs the Bar.

The food was excellent and the Beer and Wine plentiful.

If you care to stray away from the Hotel I would recommend you make the effort to explore the cobbled back streets of the town for a small family run Café/Wine Bar called the Entoca Alla Calle. It is a small run family Bar who will make you most welcome and the son Claudio has an excellent knowledge of Wines.

Room Tip: With the exception of 5 rooms at the rear, all the other rooms are located at the front overlooking...

First time at the Continental Hotel - we booked independently through the internet and so had B&B basis not full board like most guests. The hotel is family run and very welcoming. There seems to be predominately English people staying as I think it is used by one of the larger tour groups in the UK. However there was a good mix of nationalities when we went.

The pool area is lovely - surrounded by grass and with enough shade from trees to take your pick of whether to be topping up the tan or reading in the shade. There are some people who stay by the pool all day - the towels are out on the sun loungers at about 7.30am! - but I would encourage people to make the most of the hotel's great location. You can walk to the lake side in 5 mins and the same to where the lake cruisers go from so it is easy to explore the lake area.

The room was fine - not huge but enough for staying for a week and the balconies with pool and lake views are a bonus. Think the only downside for me was that a lot of people smoke on their balconies which I am not keen on when I sat out.

Maria also kindly arranged for us to go to the Garden hotel across the road to use their tennis courts at €14 an hour.

I would stay here again as great for access but far enough away from the lake to be quiet at nights.

Reading the previous reviews don't have a lot to add just to agree a truly lovely little family run hotel with impeccable staff especially in the dining room. Initially we were disappointed in our ground floor room which as others have stated are basic however they are spotless and the gardens and pool are beautifully maintained and the food is very good. I would like to have seen a bedroom on the upper floors I am sure they are much bigger. Garda is just lovely and the walk along the 3km lakeside promenade to Bardilino is beautiful and of course ferries take you all over to one delightful little town after another some much busier than others. We had ten days wish it had been longer.

Room Tip: Book early to get balcony pool view room!

I stayed at the Hotel Continental this year, my second visit. A lovely, family run hotel, in a perfect location, just a minute or two from the town of Garda and the lake. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We stayed half board, choosing the evening meals at breakfast, so service was very efficient. All meals were delicious! The hotel has a lovely large outdoor pool, with plenty of sun beds to use either in the sun or shade. The friendly waiters are always on hand to fetch drinks from the bar. If we stay in Garda again, which I hope we will, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Highly recommend to anyone traveling to this part of Italy looking for a lovely, friendly hotel, close to the lake.
