“Brilliant Hotel - Not so good restuarant”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

This was our second visit in five years. The hotel is still the best in Garda. On our previous visit we had a ground floor room with a terrace and did not notice the lack of sound proofing as much as we did on this visit with a second floor room. Our first visit was before the addition of another floor. The rooms are delightful, spotlessly clean and spacious. The staff are excellent, always very helpful and particularly Rodi who was superb. The Matre De was very good at his job. However we did notice a substantial reduction in the food availability. The continental breakfast is very basic and even though the dining times were 7.00pm to 9.00pm in the evening, if you were not in the restaurant by 7.05pm you were not able to take advantage of all the selections.
All in all a pleasant, clean and happy hotel at which to enjoy Lake Garda

Room Tip: Choose a ground floor room with terrace

Just about to head home after a wonderful stay at hotel villa madrina.
We stayed here for 5 nights breakfast & dinner.
All the staff work incredibly hard. Miro and the girls are friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious every night and you had good choices.
The rooms were comfortable and all looked like they have balconies. My only gripe would be the chairs could be more comfortable to sit on out there.
It has a decent size pool and provide towels for by the pool.

The hotel is a five min max walk down the hill to town and a short walk to the bus station and ferry terminal if you want to get out and about.

I can't fault the staff here they are the friendliest I have experienced.

The hotel is for more mature people which we really liked as obviously you don't get twenty year olds bashing and crashing around. (I'm in my thirties but want to chill).

We spent a wonderful week at Villa Madrina in June 2014. The hotel is perfectly located within 5 minutes walk of the ferry terminal.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful with Miro and the girls looking after everyone in the dining room where the food was excellent. There was a very relaxed atmosphere but very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble.
After having booked through Kuoni we had the need to book a rental car fort a business trip I had to make for a couple of days and as none of the recognised car rental companies have an office in Garda I Facebook messaged the hotel to ask if they could suggest something. Better than a suggestion Luana at Villa Madrina arranged the whole thing for me with the local Hertz agency which was only a 15 minute stroll from the hotel. All we had to do was walk to the agent's office and pick up the car!
I really cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. On our last evening one of the girls offered to take a few photos of us together and she obviously knew what she was doing as the results were great. Next trip to Lake Garda will definitely be spent at Hotel Villa Madrina.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the pool and lake but those on the second floor obviously have best views. There...

Spent 7 nights in June in Suite Hibiscus with a balcony+sun terrace + lake and pool view. The room was very good , pool was super. We ate in the hotel two nights from the a la carte menu and the food was excellent , the pasta and tortellini was home made and was the best we sampled around the lake. Mori the maître d' was very helpful friendly and knew his wines so was a great help. It was a ten minute walk to Garda lake front and a little uphill on the way back but not too taxing. Overall a very good hotel.

Room Tip: Suite Hibiscus, good lake and pool view.

Superb, luxurious family run hotel conveniently situated above the Ferry Terminal in Garda. Marvellous situation with beautiful gardens, large inviting pool and lovely views across the lake.
Well appointed, good sized ground floor room with private patio met all our requirements.
Food was excellent - buffet breakfast was superb. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and really added to the enjoyment of the stay. An unexpected Gala Dinner was included in the half-board tariff which was a nice surprise and provided a really pleasant evening's entertainment. Only slight draw-back was the lack of aircon, which we had been advised would be available in May, but nevertheless, we would certainly return here again. Thanks to all for a perfect holiday.

Our 2nd visit to this hotel ( early May 2014)
Has about 20 deg .lake view but the rest is very pleasant with mountain/cliff distant view and plenty of greenery.
Most rooms seem to face this with balconies/patios overlooking the very attractive pool. The rooms to the right( pool facing) ma have some traffic noise from the lane at peak times.
About 10/13 mins walk to the lake.
The staff are without exception excellent led by head waiter Miro and all others including Rhodi.
Not cheap but still recommended

Hotel Madrina is a small family run hotel which offers accommodation over three floors. Furnished in an understated Italian rustic country style. The gardens are beautifully kept and the maintenance man was always to be seen doing something in the grounds. Nice pool and comfortable loungers.
The views were just lovely and the staff friendly. Only minutes walk from the lake and lots of beautiful restaurants and cafés. Complimentary bikes that you can borrow anytime is a lovely way to see other villages.
Our room was a good size but could not be described as a suite and the bathroom was on the small side and dated. The food I would describe as average at breakfast, but lunch snacks were very good. We chose not to eat dinner here. I would recommend this hotel to adults not families. We had a lovely stay here but my reservation is that the sound proofing in the hotel is poor and you can hear noise from neighbours, gardens, balconies and corridors when you are in your room.

Room Tip: A second or third floor room will offer beautiful views otherwise all rooms face the same direction...
