“Best holiday we've ever had”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

Yes the shower was small but that is my only criticism & I knew that when we booked the holiday. Right from the start the staff could not have been so helpful. We had to miss one evening meal as we were going to the opera so two big 'packed lunches' we provided. One three occasions we had to leave the hotel early in the morning & there was no trouble for the staff providing breakfast. Every member of staff, & I do mean every, was pleased to see us and greeted us whatever time of the day or night. (We returned from the opera at 2.45 in the morning!). You don't have to take part or enjoy the evenings entertainment but we did. Also the gala evening meal was a five course spectacle. I've left the best to last - the proprietor - Pierot is such a good man. He leads by example & is a great entertainer. I almost didn't write this review because I want to make it easier for me to book a room for next year!

Room Tip: Book a room with a balcony if you need to smoke!

Had a lovely week at Villa Mulino, very friendly hotel with great staff that can't do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay. We really enjoyed it and look forward to going back. Thanks to all at the hotel for such great service, Janet & Colin McNally.

This was our first visit to Lake Garda and what a lovely one. We stayed at the Villa Mulino after having read other peoples reviews and we were not disappointed. We stayed half board and I must admit the food was top standard. Three course meal and a salad bar too. They also have a gala night where the food is served on the terrace and it was lovely. You picked your meal the night before for the following day and if there was something on the menu you didnt like you could ask them for something else. No problem at all. The only little downside was our room, it was very dark and needed a little updating, we had no balcony, and due to it being on the side of the hotel, the traffic was noisy, so we had to keep our window closed, but it did have air conditioning. The shower was also very small. but it was only a base at the end of the day. It was cleaned everyday and was always spotless. Towels changed every day and after a shower at night changed then also. The staff at this hotel are the most friendliest people we have ever met. They cant do enough for you, always smiling and happy to help in everyway. Even when we were going on a day trip they asked if we wanted to take a packed lunch. The owner was lovely, he works so hard to keep his hotel up to top standard. He is also very multi-talented, sings and plays various instruments. He keeps the entertainment going every night. The hotel is centrally located, next to the bus station and a little walk to the lake, shops, restaurants and bars. If I was to return to Lake Garda I would certainly go back to this hotel. Apart from the room we had, it was completely faultless.

Room Tip: Try and book a room with a balcony before you go, I ticked for a twin room, but didn't realise y...

Just returned June 11th from our 2nd visit to this hotel, I cannot praise this hotel enough
Piero,(owner / manager ) Ursulla reception and all of the staff are excellent and do all they can to make your stay enjoyable,
Piero entertains you most nights and is an excellent muscian, playing lots of musical instruments.
kareoke nights, also games, or if you want to stroll into town it is only minutes away, lots of shops and lovely lake views,
The hotel is just off a busy main road, but when you walk up the drive it is like a peaceful oasis, lovely grounds, where they have a gala meal every week, with live music dancing and games, with a 5 course meal.
nice pool area and snack bar, I do not like to say too much as we may not get booked up for our next holiday there., looking forward to 2015. well done all at Villa Mulino.

The hotel is very convenient for the shops, lakeside and bus station, being no more than a three minute walk to any of them. The Welcome received from the hotel is second to none I have stayed in. Whether it is the owner / manager Piero or any of his staff, all have a pleasant smile and greeting for you from first day until last. The whole place runs so smoothly with Piero seemingly able to be everywhere and managing with apparent little effort - which lets you know he has a great management capability and extremely competent and conscientious staff supporting him.

The hotel has lovely grounds which hold the swimming pool and spa, plus a garden bar which creates a lovely atmosphere for sitting and drinking, whether its a pleasant lunch, evening entertainment or an evening with friends enjoying a drink. With all the plants, trees and lighting the gardens create just the right atmosphere. Once a week a Gala dinner is held in the garden instead of the restaurant and what a good job they make of it. The food is excellent and the chefs are clapped as they bring it from the kitchens.

Food in general in the hotel is excellent and served in the comfortable restaurant. There is entertainment (mainly provided by Piero who can sing and play a variety of instruments) and on some nights there are games. Piero seeks your agreement to join in but there is no feeling of pressure or compulsion to do so if you don't want to. Other nights films are shown in the garden but are not obtrusive if you want to be quiet. The garden has several different seating areas.

Have no fears about booking this one.

We actually stayed there with Shearings (who are another matter entirely - but lets not spoil this review!).

Rooms are a little compact but are pleasant and contain most of what you want, eg TV, stocked fridge, safe and en-suite. Like other reviewers I would not book a balcony again as only a few actually have a view worth having and most rooms have a balcony anyway. However these are minor points as the hotel is so nice you will be won over very quickly. The sheer volume of regulars who come back to this hotel is amazing and confirms that the quality and service has been maintained over many years.

Room Tip: Best to avoid road side of hotel if possible. However traffic noise pretty well ceases between aroun...

This hotel is so convenient to the lake side, shop, cafes and restaurants as well as being next door to the bus station. I cannot praise this hotel enough after receiving the warmest of welcomes. The staff was so friendly and always service with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Entertainment was provided by Piero which was so enjoyable. The rooms were kept spotless. One observation: The shower cubicle could have done with being bigger but this would not deter me from booking this hotel again.

Well done everyone for making our holiday most enjoyable.

Room Tip: Room faced the main road - can be a little noisy if the window is open. Tip is to close the window...

Chose this hotel by pure chance and what a gem of a find it has proved to be. Lovely surroundings and close to the water front, shops, cafes and restaurants. Spacious grounds to the hotel which Piero puts to good use with various entertainments and good facilities. The pool and spa pool are very good with plenty of sun loungers all round it. There is table tennis and table football too along with an outdoor bar for food and drinks as well as the one indoors. The Gala Evening was fabulous, all outdoors with beautifully decorated tables. A 5 course meal was wonderful and there was plenty of live music which we could all dance to afterwards. Piero is a multi-talented musician and played and sang for all the dances. Good to have non-disco music and have the chance to cha cha cha and foxtrot properly ! All the staff are friendly and helpful and you feel well looked after every minute of the day. Food is delicious with plenty of choice and breakfast can be served early for you if you're off on an early excursion. Bedrooms are good, not over large but then, you're only sleeping in them. My only complaint was the hairdryer in the bathroom. I wasn't expecting the long hose with strange nozzle at the end of it. You have to have it stretched out to make it work, so you're nearly out of range of the mirror ! It was awkward for me as my hair desperately needs a decent blow-dry to make it look OK. Thank goodness I took my hair starighteners with me !! All in all it is a brilliant hotel in a very pretty resort with excellent staff to look after you. Definitely one to return to.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a balcony at an extra cost but they are very tiny and don't particularly give an...
