“Wonderful”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

We have just come back from a wonderful 10 night stay at Hotel La Perla. The hotel is situated very close to the bus station and a 5 min walk to the ferries, From the start, we were met with courtesy and friendliness from each and every member of the staff. The girls on reception are a credit to the hotel. We only had breakfast, but there was plenty and varied, just don't expect something different everyday. The bedroom was perhaps a little dated, but spotlessly clean and the maid service was excellent. The star of the show has to be the pool, its massive, with a Jacuzzi and cold water jets in the main pool and a separate large childrens and baby pool. Plenty of sun beds, umbrellas, a bar with food and a further grassed area with a couple of small childrens climbing frames.oops forgot Lifeguard on duty most of the time...the pool is 4.6" deep all over. You can rent bikes for about 4 euros for half a day or 6 euros for the day and there is a garage.. If you have a late departure, they have case storage and a room to change should you need one... Excellent Hotel, Excellent Staff and Excellent position.

This is a very good hotel in an excellent location 2 minutes from the bus station & 5 minutes to the town centre and lake shore. We had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool area and it was very quiet. Despite what some people have said in reviews the room was of an adequate size ( I sometimes wonder what people do in their rooms if this size is not sufficient !) The balcony was small but had room for a table & 2 chairs, again...who wants to be sitting on a balcony for any length of time in an area as beautiful as this.
The staff very pleasant & helpful in all areas of the hotel and the place was very clean.
We were on a half board holiday and breakfasts had plenty of choice both hot and cold although describing some things as "hot" is perhaps exaggerating ! The dinners were very good but very much geared to British tastes. This was the one disappointment for us as when in Italy I do like to have typical Italian food. Some reviews mention lots of pasta but we certainly didn't see this.
All in all I would most certainly recommend this hotel & if returning to Garda I would have no hesitation in staying there again.
The pool is very large and clean with loads of sunbeds and a small bar.
If you are a senior citizen it is worth remembering to show your passport when buying bus or boat tickets as you get 20% discount.

Never understood why people send in these reviews as everything is so personal but you would have to have something wrong with you not to feel and enjoy the wonderful and friendly atmosphere that pervades the hotel. The only complaint I have is that all those that are going for the 9th or 10th time should let other people have a chance of experiencing this great hotel.

We have just returned from a week long stay, our first time in Italy.
Booked via Thomson on half board basis.
Ideally situated and just a two minute level walk from the town centre. Great place to interact with the locals who all seem to eat out at the many bars and restaurants that line the narrow streets and the lake front.
The hotel itself was very clean, the food was excellent with something to suit everyone's palate. Continental breakfast served each morning, with hot options of eggs, bacon and sausage. Every type of bread/rolls and cereals you can imagine, meats and cheeses and fresh fruits. Dinner options were very good and drinks very reasonably priced.
We travelled as a couple and enjoyed the company of another couple from up near Manchester who shared our table with us for our daily meals. We thought this was a great idea as it makes the whole thing a social event and gives the opportunity to talk about the trips you've done etc. This may not appeal to everyone but we found the whole experience very positive.
We have to say the service was exceptionally good, all staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. This can be said of all the staff - reception staff, the cleaning staff and waiters and waitresses.
If you love to swim or lounge by the pool, you would struggle to find a better pool than the one at La Perla. It has a fantastic filtration system and therefore is not chlorinated so it's kind on the eyes, hair and skin. There is a good child pool alongside the main pool and plenty of loungers and parasols available. The pool bar is a useful feature and there are toilets/changing rooms too. For those who prefer grass beneath their feet, there is a garden area adjacent to the pool with loungers dotted around - perfect if you want a little more privacy but very close to the pool.
Our room had everything you needed - bathroom with shower and the beds were very comfortable. We never had a problem sleeping. Our balcony overlooked the pool and garden area with the mountain behind. Beautiful view and lovely to just sit in the evening and watch the world go by.
We already want to return and next time we go we will return here....back to saving the pennies for next time!!

Just spent 11 nights in Lake Garda The La Perla hotel was very nice, rooms were basic, could do with tea and coffee making facilities, staff always friendly.
Only downside was the church bells sounding at 7am every morning.
Will definitely go back to this hotel if going to Garda

Just returned from a lovely holiday in Garda, which we went to celebrate are Anniversay and it was was our first time in the Italian Lakes, we went on a two centre holiday first week in hotel All Azzurra and second week hotel La Perla both hotels were lovely the only fault with the All Azzurra was the food wasn't fantastic but the La Perla food was fantastic and much more of a choice, the staff at the La Perla were really lovely and nothing was to much bother for them and I would go there again which we are planning to do next year, the only fault was and I hope they pick up on this at the pool the music being played by the life guard staff was not what you would expect for the age group that was there it, and was not at all relaxing, everyone I spoke to also said the same thing I meant to put it in the questionnaire but for got to fill it in, there was a quieter area to go to on the grass but it would of been nice to have sat by the pool. Other than that loved it and hopefully will be back next year.

Had a lovely holiday in September 2013. Lake Garda is probably the most beautiful place I've ever been to.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and I couldn't fault the service. The food and rooms were basic but that was not a problem as we ate out most nights.
The only issue, and it is a big one, is that the area around the pool has a severe problem with mosquitoes. We spent a day around the pool and I woke up in the night with approximately 60 mosquito bites on my arms and legs. I had quite a bad time over the next couple of days with itching. I feel that the hotel should provide warnings about what is a big problem.
