Hotel La Perla is in a good quiet location and very handy for the lakeside at Garda. The accommodation was very good and the cleanliness of the room was excellent. The restaurant staff were also very friendly and efficient in their services, this together with excellent food for dinner - four course with good choices and we never had the same menu twice in the two week stay. Plenty of choices too for breakfast. The swimming pool is huge and safe for non-swimmers (only 4' 6" deep all over), plenty of sun beds available, and in an excellent setting at the rear of hotel. Lake Garda is very scenic and the ferry sails were enjoyable from Garda to other resorts. Having a Bardolina wine in Bardolino in a lakeside cafe/bar is a must do! Day trips to Venice, the Dolomite Mountains and Verona are excellent - using the ferries to get about Lake Garda and relaxing at the pool made for a great holiday. Would highly recommend this hotel and the area for a good holiday (two weeks at least!!)

Room Tip: High floor (4th) rooms overlooking pool would be recommended.

This was a return stay after a couple of years break and we were delighted that the hotel has continued to maintain a very high standard. All the staff were friendly, the rooms were kept clean, the dinner menu offers a wide selection, the food is well cooked, the swimming pool had sufficient sun beds and umbrellas and the location is quiet but within a few minutes of the lakeside, bus garage and ferry jetty. The hotel is slightly dated but it does preserve the overall look and feel of the town. There is nothing to fault
The only potential doubt I have is the marketing by the hotel on it's web site promoting it as a ‘bike’ hotel.Despite investing in numerous cycles and specific facilities the take-up this year was almost non-existent. However should it gain in popularity it may deter some of the more established guests

Firstly I would like to say, great holiday! The hotel is located in an excellent position only a short walk from the centre. Room size and cleanliness were good, maybe a little older fashioned but more than adequate. Food, swimming pool and garden areas were first class and the staff were very helpful and friendly especially Giovanna in the restaurant. This hotel has people returning year after year and its not hard to understand why. I will return but maybe in a few years when I have experienced other places.
Fabulous holiday and hotel , thanks La Perla for making my honeymoon so good x

Stayed here with husband. Great hotel but rooms lack sunlight and were disappointing. Also very dated. Balcony very very small, some with no view. We always enjoy sitting on balcony but not here as too cramped to use. We requested a different room and got moved two rooms down but no difference. We were informed all rooms are same size. Location superb which made up for room and balcony size. Excellent pools for adults and children. Our grandchildren loved the two childrens pools. All spotlessly clean. Food was ok and always something on menu we could eat. Would return to this hotel but would request a pool view. If you are of the opinion a room is only somewhere to sleep/base then this is a fantastic hotel location wise as next to bus station and lake for ferries or simply to stroll down to lake. We met people who had returned year after year to La Perla so can't be too bad!

The reception at the hotel is very welcoming the staff in the reception are lovely and they are very helpful. The rooms and bar are slightly dated and could do with being decorated especially the bathrooms but they are very clean and a very good size. The pool is very nice, it has a pool side bar for any snacks which you may want. In the restaurant you are giving a table which is your for the full of your stay. On the first night you are suppose to go to the restaurant but due to are plane being delayed we decided we wanted to have dinner at the lake, we had not been told this by reception or anyone else. The next morning we went for breakfast and I have realised that the tables all had room numbers, I asked the lady were was our room number and in the middle a man named 'the chef or Gereado' interrupted rudely in front of everyone who was in the restaurant getting asked a number of questions in a very sharp, rude tone. I had explained the reason why we didn't eat in the hotel the night before. We were told to come back that night and the he would get us a table. When we went back we had to explain to another waiter, him then having to go and get the chef, once again he was far from pleasant about having to get a table for us and what we wanted to eat. This mad us feel really awkward and embarrassed that we didn't feel welcome in the restaurant as on two occasion we were made feel stupid in front of a number of people and spoke to in a nasty tone. On the morning the waitress who I had asked the number of the table even realised the tone he spoke to us in as she said 'don't worry he doesn't like me either'. This was defiantly not a nice start to our holiday. If the hotel is going to do a system like this then they should maybe have the reception explain this all at check in so another couple do not feel the same. Everything else location wise, other staff were all good but due to what happened me and my partner would have to really think about staying in this hotel again.

Dear guest,
we are very sorry that your stay in our hotel was ruined by a misunderstanding with our maître.
I had a long conversation with maître Gerardo and he apologizes if his tone of voice that day offended you and made you feel uncomfortable. This is highly unusual, as many positive reviews testify to and congratulate us on the friendliness of all our staff. The ensuing events, including the answer of our waitress, has been a complete and very unfortunate misunderstanding.
We hope to see you again at our hotel and to welcome you in accordance with the high standards of the real La Perla Hotel.
Have a nice summer.
