“fantastic location in Garda, delicious breakfast buffet”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

This was a wonderful surprise - lovely hotel right by the lake front on Garda, in the nicest part of town, near the coastal promenada towards Bardelino; beautiful gardens full of exotic plants, and a magnificent tree which privdes cool shade for afternoon tea (complementary) and home-made cake; generous buffet with everything from croissants to local meats (mortadella, salami, cotto, Parma ham, ), cheeses, fruits in syrup, yoghurt, cakes, rolls etc etc: even scrambled egg and bacon for those who want it! Fantastic reception rooms, with tiles floors and comfortable easy chairs, and a lovely terrace from which to watch the world go by. Our bedroom was large, (with an en suite bath), with a flat-screen TV, free Internet (essential for teenager with tablet!) and air conditioning (which we trned off.) but... decor 'tired' with polystyrene tiles on the ceiling (hiding what?) and old-fashioned floral stripe wallpaper, utilitarian Italian furniture and a hideaous lampshade. The whole place could be a luxury hotel with a little redecoration - and a little more friendliness from the receptionist!
A family hotel, but the owners seem not to like their guests very much and we wondered whether this was because we were English, or guests of Crystal? Very strange - but lovely place if a warm welcome is not that imoortant to you!

Room Tip: rooms by the terrace are lovely, but can get a little noisy at 5 am or so when the dustmen come - a...

This is a well run hotel in a fantastic location. Many other hotels in Garda are on the far side of the main road, meaning a stroll past the filling station and a lung full of carbon monoxide before you get to the lakeside. The Terminus, however, is on the right side of the tracks right by the lake.

Our room was large and efficiently cleaned ech day, and the breakfast is brilliant. As a Brit, I can't be doing with the standard Continental fare of cold cuts and croissants. The Terminus offers a great range of delicious items including excellent scarmbled eggs and bacon.

There is a relaxing garden at the front where you can sit and have afternoon tea and homemade cake at no extra charge.

However, some (not all) members of the family who run this place spoil the atmosphere with an unfriendly manner bordering on the hostile.

On our last night this reached ridiculaous proportions when we went to the restaurant in town run by the same family. The maitre d (who appeared to be a family member) failed to put our 15 per cent discount as hotel guests on the bill and instead of apologising was about as rude as its possible to be when I politely pointed it out.

It always amazes me to find that people who don't seem to like other people continue to choose the hospitality industry for their careers,

The Terminus could be a great hotel, rather than just a very good one, if only the Benelli family would cheer up a bit!

Highly enjoyed a stay at this hotel last year for a week. A great base to see all the sights of Lake Garda and the surrounding area. Well run hotel with a wonderful location beside the lake. We did a few day trips that meant we had to leave the hotel before breakfast started but the family running the hotel were more than helpful in providing us with a substantial packed breakfast which we enjoyed :)

Rooms were spotlessly clean, great size and comfortable although could benefit from being updated a little.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely location to kick back and relax.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony overlooking the square at the side of the hotel are lovely but you will hear the...

We really liked this hotel. It was situated at the end of the town but it is only a 10 minute walk to the ferry and 5 minutes to the bus station.
The hotel is a family run business and they paid great attention to detail. The breakfast was superb and we enjoyed using the quiet sun terrace.
The weather was extremely hot and so it was great to use the swimming pool in the twin hotel The Continental, although it was about a 10 minute walk away.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking or good value or money, peaceful setting and an excellent breakfast.
The only downside was the condition of the bathroom. It was in serious need of an upgrade - there was a bath with a hand held shower, the only trouble was there wasnt a hook to hang the shower head and I think this could have been easily remedied - the tiles were old looking too, however there were lovely soft towels delivered everyday.

I stayed here from July 13 to 27th. although only B&B the breakfast was excelent with plenty of choice, they even provided afternoon tea and cake free. The staff were very friendly and helpfull at all times, and the maids were very friendly allways doing a very good job. My room was on the 3rd floor no54 a single room I complained about a cracked wash basin and dripping tap they said would fit a new one when i went out on a full day trip 3days later i went out returning in the evening to find it had been changed. overall i can not fault this hotel.

Room Tip: rooms facing the lake are quieter

Sadly our stay was short in this lovely town. We had only 1 night stay during a busy Northern Italy adventure.
We traveled from Verona by bus which was a lovely scenic journey. From the bus station go left towards the church and at church veer right and the hotel is at end of this row.
Basic hotel and rooms, family run and friendly. They have a bar with reasonable prices.
We went for a swim in the lake where we went towards water, turned left and headed down. Lovely few glasses of Presecco at waters edge after swim with the locals. Lots of lovely places to eat some with live music and lapping water.
On Friday morning great market with lots of bargains so allocate time and weight!!!!
We went on boat and got off in Sirmione which is a lovely place to explore with castle, boat trip around area.
Garda town itself is lovely and well worth a chilled day/half day to explore. With the boat to train or bus you can go to other cities like Milan, Venice, Verona and of course other Lake Garda towns!!

A very pleasant, small, well run, family hotel. Situated at the edge of Garda town but within easy walking distance of everything (the interactive map of the town appears to make it a lot bigger than it is). Tour buses cannot get to the hotel, (they drop you at the bus station or by Hotel Adelaide), so there are about 100 meters to wheel your case to the hotel. The hotel is on the lakeside and there is a small car park in front of the hotel. A high standard of cleanliness and the rooms, as earlier stated, are a bit dated. We up- graded to a lake view and balcony, well worth it, and found we had air conditioning, a ceiling fan and a mini fridge. The room (63) was quite large and had a big bathroom, with a bath. Breakfast was very good, with buffet service and can be taken in the dining room out on the terrace next to the garden. There is a great variety, fruit juices, a range of coffees and teas, cereals, fruit, cheeses, cold meats, bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs and baked beans, a good selection of bread and pastries. All in all a good spread. There is complementary tea and cake around 5 o'clock . The family also own el Refol Restaurant on the lakeside and offer guests a good discount if they eat there, also they own the Continental Hotel, 10 minutes walk away, and you have the use of their swimming pool. The hotel has a sun terrace, with about a dozen beds and a shower cubical to cool off in, up on the first floor. All the staff were friendly and helpful, most staff spoke reasonable English with the reception ladies being fluent. We had a very happy two weeks here and we never had to ask for our key once. It is the sort of place where they recognise you when you return to the hotel and present you with your key, nice touch. We would return to this hotel again.

Room Tip: Recommend an up-grade to the front of the hotel. At the rear there is a church that rings it's b...
