“Bellevue revisited”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

After 3 years we were back to Gardone and the Bellevue and as always a warm welcome. This hotel, in an old villa and furnished accordingly, is just so good. From the lovely Pizzi Family who own the hotel, the marvellous staff, the spacious rooms( immacutely clean), the ample breakfasts, the gardens and of course - the view of the lake, there is nothing to fault. We arrived from Bergamo, via the train to Brescia and then the bus, so easy and less than €20 for the two of us. There are several good restaurants within a ten to fifteen minute walk, either to Gardone or up the hill to Gardone Sopra. We did not use the pool, but fellow guests recommended it and also that the meals that were available were also very good. Looking forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: Rooms at front have view of lake.

Stayed for five nights early September after working all summer, wonderful helpful staff and a nice quiet location! Anywhere further toward the centre is too busy, dont be put off by the pool being near the road,it made no difference whatsoever! Looking forward to returning same time next year!

We found this hotel to be a very nice three star hotel set in pleasant grounds. We stayed here for five nights (two rooms). The family running the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are not that modern but have character. The bathrooms are modern with a good strong shower. Our room had quite a large balcony at the side of the hotel where there were two chairs and a table. The other room we had was at the front of the hotel with a small balcony and a lovely view. Breakfast was continental style, good and served on the terrace at the front of the hotel - very relaxing. We used the pool area quite a bit. It is beside the road but any passing traffic did not bother us and we enjoyed our time swimming.

The hotel is located about 15 mins walk from the village where there are a number of restaurants and where you can catch the ferry to other towns on the lake. There is also another road near the hotel that the owners showed us. There are nice restaurants at the top of the hill (quite steep but again about 10 mins walk) We would recommend eating at both areas. We enjoyed our stay.

Lake Garda is a hot tourist spot therefore it's hard to find a place to relax but be close to everything to jump into action. This hotel gives you a great combination of both. Gardone Riviera is not a typical hot tourist town so you don't have a feeling that you are spending your vacation in a busy railway station. You are 2 minutes walk from the public beach (lido) and 10 minutes walk from the touristic town center by the lake. You are five minutes away from the old town located up on the hill. I stayed here twice and it seems that I am going to come back whenever I drive through northern Italy.
The hotel has updated and clean rooms with basic services. The balcony has a great view to the lake and the beautifully maintained hotel garden. They have a comfortable size pool to relax and cool down. The bar is offering drinks, coffee and some basic meals. Now about the people here! The hotel is owned by the same family for 3 generations! They are kind down to earth people. Ask them what to do and where to eat and you will be fine. Enjoy your stay!

We stayed during the first week of May. The season was just starting, everywhere was open but there were no crowds! The hotel was excellent-friendly, clean and with character. Breakfast on the terrace was great and the scents of the flowers and shrubs were delightful. Lots of good eateries but, most importantly, very friendly service and care from the staff.

This is a very clean, beautifully decorated hotel with friendly staff an the owners heavily engaged. Most rooms have a wonderful view of the sea and a balcony. The rooms aren't the biggest or the breakfast the richest, but both are still good, and excellent considering the price. The traffic is lively on the road, so you need to be very careful when crossing, but with closed balconydoor it wasn't disturbing.
You get specail coffees, drinks and snacks throughout the day and the terrass is very nice. Around the pool you'll find deck chairs. You have several good restaurants on walking distance, some of them in upper Gardone (10 min) and the others by the lake. The lower city center is about 10 minutes walking away.
There is an elevator. The rooms in the third floor don't have a balcony.
