We had a week at this hotel and really enjoyed it. The hotel itself is right on the lake front (although there is no access directly to the lake from the hotel, the beach is only 500 yards away). The rooms are nicely furnished and lovely and cool. The pool is a bit small, and there really aren't enough deck chairs so people go a bit crazy first thing in the morning trying to reserve their spaces. The gym is REALLY small with very few bits of equipment.
There's loads to do. All along the lake front there are really good restaurants and bars, all within easy walking distance. It's easy to catch one of the many ferries which criss cross the lake to other lakeside cities and islands. The trip to Sirmione was one of the highlights of the week. We also did a day trip to Verona and spent a spectacular night at the opera - Verdi's Aida - in the open air amphitheatre.
We had a car so it was easy to explore the little villages around the lake and it made the trip to Verona really easy.

Room Tip: There are rooms with really small balconies - which barely take 2 chairs - and MUCH larger balconies...

Dear Guest,

thank you very much for your kind comment regarding both the hotel, it’s surroundings and the leisure time activities on the Lake and in it’s neighbourhood. The hotel has a central position in Gardone Riviera, this is definitely one of it’s strengh, so it is a good choise for those, who arrive without car and have to use public transport. Your annotation about the different balcony size might help other guests in booking the right room type if they desire to have a large balcony, like a Deluxe or a Prestige room.
Regarding the sunbeds we inform you that we already provided to buy more for the swimming pool area.
We would be very glad to welcome you again as our guest at the Savoy Palace.

Yours sincerely,

Silvia Dalla Bona

Room and balcony at its finest--spacious and luxurious. The view and relaxed atmosphere make it feel like you're in a Jane Austen novel. A perfect place to get away and enjoy the gorgeous Lake Garda paradise. Breakfast was great and the coffee is superb--best I've tasted in Europe! A suggestion is to add more fruits and vegetables to the menu. The juices were amazing, and the warm frothed milk for the coffee such a special touch. I would certainly recommend this hotel to everyone and look forward to returning.

We spent 4 days at the Savoy Palace on Lake Garda and Loved it. It may be a bit quiet for some but it was perfect for us. The hotel is very nice and clean, the views are beautiful, and the staff and service were outstanding. The dinners were also very, very good. All-in-all, this is an excellent place for a restful or romantic holiday. It's nicely located for exploring lake Garda by boat. The pool is very nice and there is a pebbly beach very near that our son loved (the lake water is a bit chilly though!). We will definitely return and stay longer if we can.

Room Tip: The lake views are beautiful.

My wife and I stayed at the Savoy Palace from 20-06-13 to 30-06-13. A wonderful holiday which fulfilled all our expectations and even more. We had booked a Superior room with views over the lake but three days on we decided to ask for a room change---we had booked a room with twin beds but had been given a king-size single bed. No problem---we were moved within the hour to a beautiful room, still with stunning views over the lake but now with twin beds. During our stay there were no less than three weddings planned for the evenings. No problem for guests however, and our holiday went on more or less as expected---indeed we enjoyed watching all the festivities! As a "thank you " for the guest's understanding the Manager, Maurizio Pretto, gave the guests a free lunch---a thoughtful gesture.

We found the food at Dinner delicious and we really did enjoy every meal---OK some more than others but what do you expect?! (And we are both pretty discerning people!) However we do have two suggestions / requests:- The Bar in the Lounge does not open until 7.30 which makes it difficult to enjoy a drink before dinner. Can it not open at 6.30?? And secondly, why is coffee not available after dinner without having to go up to the Lounge and paying what seems to be an excessive amount for a cup of black coffee---approx 4 euros. Not good!
#
To summarise---a lovely hotel, well run with most helpful and pleasant staff---and that goes for Maurizio Pretto too! Would we go back? Oh yes, most certainly.

Room Tip: Make it clear that you require a single or double or twin bedroom.

3rd time we have stayed here - a lovely quiet hotel on the shores of Lake Garda. This stay was for one week. The restaurant menu changed daily. The pasta dish - Primi Piatti - also changed every evening. Excellent service in the poolside restaurant. Cheap and acceptable local wines Lugana (white) and Bardolino (red) 13 euros for a bottle, Bus parties eat inside and possibly don't get the range of food or service that independent guests enjoy. Weather superb for our week 38 deg every day. Plenty of lunch options in the lakeside pizzerias - 150 yds from the hotel. Ferry terminal 250 yds gives access to Malcesine, Limone, Riva, Salo, Garda, Bardolino, Sirmione and many other small lakeside towns. Room was very comfortable with small balcony facing the lake. Will try to find an excuse to go back a.s.a.p. !

Room Tip: If you can, get a room with a balcony facing the lake.

We arrived at the hotel and was pleased with the initial look at it.Inside the staff were very helpful/nice and the hotel looked very clean. After checkin we went to our room which was light and clean. The view from the balcony was excellent overlooking the mountains.Pool and outsidw bar area was also very good.
Food was very good as was service at meal times.
Good location, near to Riva center (about 15 min steady walk), never saw litter or dog poo anywhere .
We had a great week, the weather helps, and we will go back to the same hotel next time we visit Lake Garda.
