Spent a very pleasurable 3 days in our beloved gardone Riviera with family (2 teenagers) and friends. We visit lake Garda every year but this was our first stay at the Fasano. I wouldnt say it is perfect, given it is quite expensive but there are many things to recommend such as the free parking on site, decent sun loungers, 3 direct access points to swim in the lake, a really great breakfast buffet and a very handy beach bag provided to each room for carrying sun creams, books, towels etc. We had two rooms in the recently renovated part of the hotel. Rooms are nice and fairly spacious with nice fittings and a decent balcony with perfect lake view. Bathrooms were Ok, not great and would have preferred a proper shower rather than the one that comes with a bath. Staff at front desk and concierge were very good, waiting and bar staff were a little hit or miss altho the staff at the pool and garden snack area were very good in particular Roberto.
The hotel has a pool which is small for the size of the hotel but we didnt use as we swam in the lake. It also has a very smart spa with some really nice steam rooms and saunas.
If ordering a gin and tonic, you need to ask for a bottle of tonic as they will use a dispenser otherwise and the tonic is flat.

Room Tip: always ask for bottle of tonic water for your G & T as the dispensed tonic is flat

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel - after reading all the reviews - decided to book our 6 nights stay there. Jay, at reception was a great help with all the information we required for our time in Lake Garda....... our room was at the Villa Principe...... with direct access to a huge communal terrace - only disadvantages is we could not have the curtains opened if we were in the room.

Hotel is 1.5 km walk from where all the restaurants are located..... and also where the pier is to take all the ferry to other towns i.e. Sirmione, Garda, Salo or Bardalino. Good exercise after dinner every night to walk back to the hotel and walk off all the pasta consumed.

We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed the stunning scenery and the luxury of the whole place. Beautifully clean, great food (which given the situation etc of the hotel wasn't overly expensive) and good service. As one reviewer previously mentioned the hotel is mostly frequented by German tourists and even some of the staff are German. It did get a little frustrating to be greeted by Guten Tag every morning by the cleaners and the restaurant staff but I guess most of their clients appreciate that. My husband had a massage in the Spa which he enjoyed althought we didn't use any of the other facilities. Overall a great place to relax whilst enjoying an amazing view of the lake,

Amazing building and the view is so beautiful, but it is 90% German families and staff to the point that they say thank you in German in the hallways. Not the best thing when you're trying to soak in Italy and Italian culture. The spa is wonderful, but unfortunately the families let their kids run wild in the indoor spa pool, and they would jump in and snorkel while we tried to relax. The spa staff did not do much to stop their behavior so that did not help. It is a 5 star, but we were not allowed any food from room service during dinner hours because they have set times for room service at 11pm (which is not 5 star service!). So instead of going to the pricey hotel restaurant, which was quite a mature crowd, we had to walk to the next village to find dinner.
Bottom line...if you're over 40 and German...this is your holiday place.

We came to this hotel as a family so I could attend a business function. To say it was outstanding would be an understatement! Very friendly staff, english speaking no problem and all were really eager to please. The food was fabulous and the rooms and view were better. Special mention to Jay and Diego of the hotel. These two gentlemen were the icing on the cake with their incredible attention to detail. Jay is the finest concierege I have ever encountered in all of my travels! We would come back to Italy just to stay here again! Oh and did I mention that the price was quite reasonable!

The hotel is beautiful, and the views are impressive. A lake view room is highly recommended (the road side of the hotel is better than most in the area, but the lake is so good that it deserves the premium).
As a seasoned traveller this is the first location that I've felt deserves particular praise and a review on trip advisor!
This part of the lake, and presumably others, caters extremely well for Italian and German tourists, but GHF staff can speak reasonable English - making this a great choice.
The hotel is obviously expensive but the food is exceptionally good (we have dined in lesser establishments with Michelin stars!). The menu may be limited for some, but my fiance is very particular and was spoilt for choice most nights. I like most things and found I was utterly spoilt for choice.
The health spa was extremely good, and maintained to a very high standard. The staff were all very friendly, it's an amazing facility to enjoy when the weather lets you down.
The location means that you enjoy a tranquil stay, but it does mean a 10-15 walk to Gardone for better transport links. Gardone is not a particularly amazing little village, one quick visit will do in a week, so don't let the walk put you off unless you intend to travel around a lot.
I suspected from the website photo's that the hotel would be immediately on the lake with no real grounds, but there is some space between the hotel and the water front, and the restaurant has a great view over the established (albeit slightly narrow) gardens to the lake.
There was a large business conference in the hotel during our stay, which I expected to cause us some upset, but in fact it was extremely well managed and removed from the general areas of the hotel, and we noticed very little of it.
The airline helpfully lost our luggage so we had to dine in rather casual clothing on the first night. We're 30 so it was okay (I did feel it warranted an explanation to the staff!), but most of the guests are slightly older and dressed formally for dinner. I normally find I'm comfortable in very smart dress jeans and a shirt, even in very high end holiday accomodation, but I wished I had a dinner jacket for GHF.
The local botanic gardens are rather small, a 15 minute walk will get you all the way round and they are on steep slopes. I may be slightly spoilt where I live with amazing castle garden's, etc, but it felt a little over sold to me.
If you like high end hotels with good food, and intend to spend a lot of time relaxing around the hotel, this is an amazing choice!

Room Tip: lake, superior. consider the wellness package.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days with a large group. Conceige Desk Jay was as good as it gets. Jay helped many in our group. Great location and the service was excellent in all respects. We had a good rate so it was a good value. If it were #60 euros a night it might be a bit pricey.
