“Good for families”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

The hotel is very big. The pool is not so big og it can be very crowded. It is difficult to swim or rest beside the pool. Middle of day is music and entertainment so you can get disturbed if you want to read or rest. The best rooms are in back side where you can not hear the noise. It is 20 minutes walking to senter and beach. There is shuttle to beach but there are many people that wait for it and limited place. Better to walk. The walls are very ting so you can hear noises from shower or people who walks in the corridores. There are plenty of food for lunch and dinner. But almost very similar food every day. Same for breakfast.

Room Tip: in back side. Not beside the pool.

Dear Guests,
thank you for taking the time to write a review on trip advisor.
Our Hotel is suitable both for families and couples. You might had the impression that it was particulary indicated for familes because August is in Italy the higher season for Holiday, so almost all the hotels are very crowded.
If you will consider to visit us again I suggest to come in June , July or September where you can enjoy the rest and the facilities that the hotel is able to offer .

Hoping you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back again , we remain with

Best Regards
Valeria Bosco

We entered as a group of just over 100 and were allocated our rooms within a short time. We found that Caesar Palace hotel is well geared for a short holiday for couples or families with children. Our group soon dispersed around the 2 pools, caught the bus into Taormina (Euro 2.8 return) of the free shuttle down to the beach. The rooms are spotlessly clean and a decent size. TV’s are old but who cares about TV on such a holiday. I would have been happy to have WI-FI in the room, but I guess the hotel management will soon realise that WI-FI is not a luxury or a service to charge extra for. The hotel card makes it easy for buying your drinks by the pool. But best of all is the location; some 2 Km from large sandy beaches with free shuttle transport till late evening. Public transport is regular and takes you to the terminus from where you can catch other buses to nearby locations. Breakfast is simple but well stocked. Coffee can be vastly improved (strange not to have excellent coffee in an Italian hotel), but lots of season fruit offered. Overall to be well recommended for all ages.

Room Tip: better away from the pools where it can get noisy

I and my husband had a rest in Caesar Palace in the first half of June. A few comments for the tourists who are choosing the hotel.
1. The entire hotel is clean, the furniture is in excellent condition, sanitary equipment works perfectly and cleaned in a timely.
2. The hotel has a small territory, but there are a lot of green plants and flowers. Photos from the hotel site looks much more modest then you see own eyes.
3. The food in the restaurant in the full-range - meat, fish, vegetables and fruits. And most importantly - the quality of the food at the highest level.
4. For tourist of AI drinks of European quality during the day. All tourists have freshly juice in the morning . On hotel arrival - a bottle of champagne.
5. Live music every evening in the lobby.
6. Beach about 1.6 km away. We walked everywhere and not tired. After three meals a day was a good walking . If desired, you can drive up to the shuttles.
7. The most important thing - the staff. All staff extremely friendly.
Many thanks to everyone for their smiles, the speed of service in the restaurant and bar, for help with any requests.
8. And a special thanks to the chief restaurant staff - Franco. He found time to pay attention to every tourist. Не never forgot preferences in food and beverages. Our trips to the restaurant were a real celebration due to Franco.

We have just returned from a week's stay at the Caesar Palace Hotel in Giardini Naxos. We booked with First Choice on an all inclusive basis after reading through many, admittedly mixed, reviews both on Tripadvisor and other websites. The deciding factor was the hotel's own website which had us salivating with its photo gallery.
On arrival our first impressions were that the hotel is spacious, well maintained, friendly and efficiently managed. Check in was painless and the four elevators for the main wing of the hotel were smooth, fast and reliable. Our room overlooked the pool, had a small but perfectly usable balcony, was very clean and came adequately supplied with plenty of storage space for clothes including proper hangers (other hotels please note). Although the predominantly purple/blue colour scheme of the curtains and bedding was a little sombre the light, airy feel of the room easily outweighed this. Our en suite again was very clean, adequately supplied with towels and well maintained. The air conditioning in the room was thankfully working - we were concerned that it was switched on at management discretion - and there was even a free safe box in the room with a 50 € refundable deposit.
The pool and bar area is spacious and comfortable, well staffed and again meticulously maintained. The ivy covered exterior of the hotel, an attractive feature in the initial search, was beautifully complemented by the lush gardens both around the pool and patio and at the front entrance helping to soften the surroundings. This part of Giardini Naxos is not the prettiest - there is a busy road outside the hotel and the Messina to Catania railway as well as some fairly uninspiring private housing so all efforts to naturally improve the appearance of the hotel were greatly appreciated. The staff, as stated previously are very friendly and helpful offering advice on the local buses to Taormina and what to see there. We could even buy tickets for the buses from reception thus saving delays and possible misunderstandings. All in all, very impressive.
However there are some areas where the hotel could vastly improve. Firstly, the food. Being all inclusive we had researched what the hotel had to offer beforehand - on their own and other websites it looked and sounded very high standard with buffet tables of rare beef, fresh seafood and many other items to tempt the eye and palate. The reality for most of the stay is that timing is of the essence if we wanted anything hot and particular. As soon as those restaurant doors were opened there seemed to be an inexplicable rush to pile plates to overflowing with chops, steaks, escalopes or anything else. Greed, unfortunately, is the inevitable result of the concept of self service restaurants and we saw more food wasted here than on any other holiday. Some of this could be due to the overall quality of the food which in my opinion was poor for such a hotel priding itself on its cuisine. An un comprehensive list of some of the failings: scrambled egg overcooked to the point of rubberisation, boiled eggs left to cool slowly leading to the un attractive black ring of sulphur around the yolk, pasta dishes which stayed on the buffet table until they cooled to the point of being unpalatable, salads of courgette, aubergine and pepper (among other ingredients) which were bland, repetitive and un attractively presented, an over reliance on certain foods - pork, baked fish and escalopes made many repeat appearances and a total lack of organisation - many dishes, once they had been emptied were either not replenished or done so after a long gap and then seemingly reluctantly. As a trained, qualified and experienced chef myself I can honestly say that this was some of the most disappointing food I have ever experienced at a hotel in any country. The hotel's use of plastic dishes and cutlery for ice cream and plastic cups for afternoon tea and coffee from the self service area of the bar only added to the impression that "all inclusive" was not a byword for luxury.
Other criticisms about the hotel would have to include the wi-fi tariff. Many travellers like to keep in touch with family and friends back home - we include ourselves in this category - and it seems a little petty to be charged for wi - fi use on top of an already expensive holiday. I should also warn about the regular parties and wedding receptions - during our stay there were three private functions with music and singing well into the early hours of the morning. This may sound a bit mean spirited but when holiday guests are waking up at 0600 in order to fit everything in before transfers to Catania for return flights it can be very disruptive. And talking of disruption - if you are at all anti-German then this hotel is definitely not for you. I try to maintain a level of live and let live at all times but found my patience being tried more than once by the general attitude and some individual examples of arrogance, bullishness and lack of consideration shown by our near neighbours in Europe. One time I was returning from the bar to the patio carrying drinks for my wife and myself and a seated German holidaymaker tried to attract my attention to place his own order - my clothing at the time did not clash with the uniform of a hotel waiter or bar man making this, on reflection, a rather amusing anecdote.
So, in summary, the Caesar Palace is clean, comfortable and efficient, the staff are friendly and responsive and the views towards Taormina and Etna are great. The overall experience is marred by the lack of pride in the kitchens and restaurant and the policy of treating hotel guests like pigs around a trough. Going on a bed and breakfast basis or accommodation only would be advisable.

Room Tip: Pool side rooms get lots of afternoon sunshine but can be noisy late at night

My wife and I went with another couple in May 2013 hoping the weather would suit us then.
(Not too hot!) The deal offered was all-inclusive, which was a bonus!
We paid extra for a room with balcony, which we considered well worth it.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly in the bar and restaurant.
We were pleasantly surprised at the standard of the food, of which there was a vast selection, including fish, meat and a variety of pasta dishes. If there was any criticism of the food, it would be that, on some occasions, it could perhaps have been a little hotter! (Although there was a microwave available in the restaurant which one could use.)
There were rarely more than 6 people in the swimming pool at any point in time!
Being May, we saw only 2 children (who happened to be extremely well-behaved anyway!)
We discovered there was also a separate shallower pool for children.
We chose, on one day, to walk down to the hotel's beach, which was fine.
We also chose to go on two excursions: one to visit the valley of the temples and a Roman villa, the other to visit Mount Etna. Although having to spend time sat on a coach, we considered both trips well worth it.
It is also worth catching a local bus to Taormina - incredible views! (At the time of our visit only 2.80 Euros return!)
Would definitely recommend this hotel (in May at least!)

Room Tip: Found it very useful having room with balcony overlooking pool.
