If you're going to Saturnia, it's important to know that there are four different facilities here: First, there's a very high-end and beautiful hotel that has its own hot spring pools for use by hotel guests only. Next, there's an adjacent but separate public pool area - it's a private park that you pay admission to enter. The last of the water areas is a free-use public natural soaking area where the hot water coming from the hotel area enters a nearby river. And finally, there's a spa with all types of massage and beauty treatments available.
I recently went to the public park pool area and spa. The pools are quite enjoyable - the water is extremely soft and the different pools and waterfalls are fun to explore. Entry cost was 22 euros. It was very family oriented and many people brought picnic lunches and made a day of it. I was a bit confused about the lounge chair situation, but I think you have to pay extra for them.
I also went for a massage at the spa - this facility is separate from the others and you pay to use them at different places. The massage was quite expensive compared to other massages I've received around the world and although the actual treatment was fine, there are absolutely no amenities provided - no towels, no robes, no footware. This is the first classy spa I've been to where you were expected to bring your own towels and robe. Furthermore, there was no place to shower or clean up in after the treatment - just a simple locker room to store your belongings. For the price, I expected to be pampered. I also kind of expected a soak in the hot waters before my massage to be included - neither was true.
I looked around the hotel a bit and it looked quite nice - maybe they provide robes to hotel guests!
