This restaurant came highly recommended to us by the hotel staff at Hotel Miramare, located nearby. Upon being seated, our family of four was surprised that there was no menu offered to us. Instead, assorted seafood appetizers began to arrive on huge platters. The quality of the food was good and the recipes had a nice homemade feel to them.
After finishing off the appetizers, we were quite satisfied and I indicated to the servers that perhaps one more pasta course would do it for us. The two servers spoke limited English and the message did not get through to them as they proceeded to bring us each two additional pasta dishes. Both were very good and the portions were not that large, but we were full.
At this point, I again motioned that we were finished with dinner but the servers continued to bring the final three platters of entrees to share! We didn't even attempt to eat these and instead asked if we could take them to go.
Limoncello and cookies were offered gratis and the drinks we ordered were two proseccos, two soft drinks and three bottles of aqua minerale.
The 150 Euros bill finally arrived, was not itemized and really lacked any useful information. What is truly disappointing about this situation is that we saw couples and other parties at this restaurant enjoying less food and certainly not the "glutton fest" we had. Is this treatment of tourists representative of the Latina area? I hope not.
Since it was Father's Day and the last night of a three week vacation in Italy, I did not make a fuss as I didn't want to spoil the evening.
My recommendation to fellow travelers and tourists..."don't go!"
To the restaurant..."change your policy and treat everyone fairly"
