“A wonderful hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2014

I have stayed in this hotel several times and have found it to be the most wonderful place to stay. Firstly, the staff are so kind and attentive to your every need - they made a real effort to make my birthday special for example, with cake and a lot of attention to my comfort and were extremely welcoming. Secondly, this hotel has everything you need - delicious food, delicious breakfast and comfortable rooms. Room service are attentive and reliable too. I really recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable stay with kind, friendly and attentive staff.

Room Tip: I would recommend the fourth floor for ultimate comfort and especially liked room 407.

this hotel probably built during the 70's has not changed much in the last 40 years. The furniture are old and should be changed, the room smells really bad, maybe because of the old carpet. The bathroom in my room was terrible as well, and during the night I could hear water drops falling from the taps. The shower...was a nightmare..no stall, so all the room was flooded!
The breakfast was really poor, just few pastries, and a bad looking slice of ham...
I hope this was my first and last time in this hotel...

This hotel, which as another reviewer has pointed out is sometimes known as "Hotel President ", has many of the benefits, but also the disadvantages of a large hotel. There are apparently about 150 rooms. Both our bedroom and bathroom were very spacious. The atmosphere seemed rather impersonal. The staff were helpful rather than friendly although apparently the reception can arrange both baby-sitting and car hire. Also, because we arrived the night before our group, it was good to find a receptionist and a night porter on duty when we arrived. Unlike some other reviewers, we found the breakfasts disappointing. There was no hot food, just ham, cheese and cold boiled eggs, plus the usual cereals, rolls etc and a limited selection of tinned fruit which did not vary the three days we were there. The hotel is in the commercial part of town but the edge of the old town starts only about 10 minutes walk away.

Whilst you certainly could do worse than stay in this hotel, I suspect you would do better as well and we would probably try somewhere else on any future visit.

This 1970s hotel requires a lot of work to bring it up to acceptable standards. Furniture very out of date. Our air conditioning broke and we were moved to a tiny claustrophobic room since the hotel was full of tours. Also, the location is much further from the Old Town than I had been led to believe. It is a long walk and I am a big walker.
Lecce is a wonderful town but stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: Ask for room in back so it is quiet. Make sure air conditioning works

The first two nights of our 9 day tour started here after a flight to Brindisi. Rather 60's in appearanace and decor it was good, we ate well on two evenings and breakfasted well after a comfortable nights sleep on both nights. Well situated in town to allow pedestrian access to th Old City it was ideal for our needs

A modern hotel set in ancient town of Lecce, a short stroll along the street leads you to the classical downtown Lecce. Hotel has an excellent decor at the lobby the room we stayed in was vertical big with nice comfortable bed.Having a good nights sleep was never an issue with the comfortable bed quite surroundings. Having breakfast was great with the wide variety of delicious fare on the menu.
Overall an unforgetable stay.

Room Tip: Stay on the upper floor.

This is a great base from which to explore Lecce it being only a straight, easy walk of about 10 mins to the heart of the old city. Just turn right out of the hotel and keep going!
An older hotel it is nevertheless very clean and efficient, and bedrooms are large with enormous beds. The staff are courteous and pleasant and more-or-less bi-lingual. The President's tiredness shows in the bathroom, where a make-over might be in order. All the taps need replacing and the shower has a mind of its' own. I never knew that a bidet could be so useful!

Breakfast is an excellent affair with a continental buffet in pleasant surroundings. We had two dinners in the hotel and both were very acceptable indeed. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again, even with a "tired" bathroom.
