Our last night in Lecce, and just wanted a single, simple dish, having pigged out for three days & nights! This place prepares local "poor" food, as eaten in the past by peasants. It's certainly simple and rustic, and no-frills! We opted for the octopus, which was delicious: slow-cooked for hours in a dense, rich, vegetable sauce, accompanied by some lovely rustic bread, and washed down with a bottle of local white. Cheap and cheerful, and mighty tasty.

We just needed to sit down and have a small snack mid afternoon. We enjoyed their beef carpaccio and a glass of the house red wine. I don’t think I would come here for much more than that though as the other dishes I saw around me were not that appealing.

Thank Michaela

After a few days of some amazing meals and outstanding service in ostuni, this was extremely disappointing. We only arrived to Lecce today and were looking for a place serving pasta, in a good location. As it was busy we thought it was a good sign but after asking for a table, the manager (or owner, not quite sure) and another staff member deliberated in italian for several minutes before giving us a table outside that was there all along. We should have taken this as a sign but the food on the tables we could see looked good so we decided to stay on. The staff were all running around frantically, some were even pulling together furniture from inside to add more tables outside.

The menus took ages to come out and then the waitress took a very long time to come back for our orders. We ordered a meat/cheese platter and house red to start and asked about the hot dishes available but were told she would take these orders after the platter. Again we waited for a very long time before receiving the platter (cold meats and cheese...). We NEVER received cutlery or napkins and no one came out to ask if we were okay. As we were hungry we tried getting the attention of the waitress to order our main meals and were told she would be with us in a minute (after several attempts to get someone's attention) - at least 15 minutes passed and still no service, no cutlery and no napkins. Very disappointing so at this point we decided to leave. Even for payment (standing in front of the till) it was difficult to get their attention and there was no acknowledgement from the manager/owner Angela (I think) of the terrible experience we clearly had.

The only positive comment I have is that the platter was nice and the house wine (half the price of the other wines) was also really good. Definitely not worth the visit.

Found this on our last afternoon in Lecce.Knowledgeable helpful young staff willing to discuss and explain food and wine.
House red disappointing but they will open any wine on the list under €20 and sell a glass. Food tasty, pleasant central location.

We had excellent local dishes including burrata with anchovies and some lovely local red wine. Waitress brought us a huge plate of fresh fruit at the end to round off our meal.
Great and lively atmosphere inside and very friendly and helpful waitresses. Graffiti walls are very entertaining. Would come here again.
