“Perfect in every way”
Reviewed 4 July 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed in this fabulous apartment in May. Hosts, apartment and location could not have been better.
Safe, secure parking outside the walls was only a short walk away, and to be honest we did not need the car there as the local trains were perfect for getting around. I thoroughly recommend this homely warm well situated apatment, with fantastic hosts. Thanks to you both.

“A lovely apartment in a central location”

This newly-restored and lovely apartment is situated very close to major attractions in the old part of the City of Lecce. It is a five-minute stroll away from ornate churches, shops, restaurants and the Roman amphitheatre. Maurizio and Paula made us feel very welcome and kindly gave us a welcoming basket full of local foods. The apartment is well-equipped, modern, spacious and light and airy.

“Top-notch in Lecce”
Reviewed 21 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We had a wonderful and memorable week-long stay in Lecce and Le Aremelline. The pictures in the rental listing were spot on, it's truly a charming and lovely apartment, furnished very tastefully and comfortably.

Very recently renovated to a high standard, the apartment has modern conveniences while retaining the lovely details of the original structure. It was spotlessly clean and all of the essentials are covered, too -- comfortable beds, great plumbing, well-equipped kitchen with essential utensils and cutlery.

The apartment is right in the heart of Lecce's historic center, so it's just steps from everything you want to see and do. The purpose of our visit was a week-long program at a local cooking school (The Awaiting Table), so we didn't eat at many of the nearby restaurants. However, there seemed to be no shortage of great places to dine, as well as bars and cafes.

Maurizio and Paola, the owners, were absolutely wonderful. Their warm welcome and attentiveness during our stay were very much appreciated. Having rented numerous times throughout Italy, this was one of the best rental experiences I've had. Would definitely stay at Le Armelline again.

“Charming, stylish and perfect location”

This is an ideal place to stay when visiting Lecce or Puglia in general. The apartment is stunning and very well fitted out with everything you could need for your stay. Excellent location in the centre of Lecce old town. Aside from the quality of the accomodation the thing which really left a memory was the owners who were incredibly charming, welcoming, helpful and generous. We loved all the little extra touches, like local foods as a present on arrival, taking an interest in where we were from, advice on favourite restaurants and this made our stay really special. We loved Lecce and we really loved staying at Le Armelline.

“A perfect apartment”

We stayed here for 9 nights and have no hesitation in recommending it. Its location is perfect. Good quality fixtures and fittings. We cooked in a little and ate out a lot as there are so many restaurants to chose from. Probably stating the obvious but it's much cheaper in this area of Italy than further north. For example a bottle of lovely local red wine at the supermarket - under 3 euros. The owners are delightful. We couldn't have asked for more. A memorable holiday.

“Yes, it's as good as they say it is”
Reviewed 11 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We absolutely agree with what previous reviewers have said.
We can't speak highly enough of our hosts, Marizio and Paola, who were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The apartment is elegant, comfortable and well-equipped, as the pictures show, and it's very well situated: literally only a few hundred meters from the Duomo and the main Piazza, S. Oronzo. But since it's in a narrow side street it's perfectly quiet. The car park is 10 minutes walk away. Lecce, of course, is a delightful place.
You can get rolls for breakfast at Non Sole Pane, a few minutes away in Via Euippa, and there is a covered market and a small supermarket just outside the Porto Rudine at the end of Via Guiseppe Libertini. We recommend the restaurant La Vecchia Osteria in Via Dasumno.
It's worth noting that the apartment doesn't have a sitting room as such, as is often the case in Italy, we understand. But you can sit comfortably in the kitchen and there are TVs in the bedrooms if you have nothing better to do. And the cafes, bars and gelaterias of Lecce are on the doorstep.
