Lecce by day is a lovely town but by night, it is stunning. In the evening this central square seems to be the meeting point for all of the residents old and young (and tourists). It is buzzing with the backdrop of illuminated white buildings yet it is romantic. You do not have to stray far from the square to be assailed by baroque architecture - again made most beautiful with the lighting. By day the square is fascinating with its juxtaposition of old and new. That the amphitheatre is still in use for concerts is a statement of its preservation. Love it. We'll be back!
