Fantastic villa, full of all comforts and perfect for family with kids. We also had a cook for us, the food was amazing and the owner Antonio and his wife Marta always ready to help!!!!

Management Response

Thank you very much for the advice and the review. Only two considerations: 1 - the grater was present, maybe we had to point you out on your arrival; 2 - we do not use the microwave oven for a healthy choice (we grow organic oil and produce KM ZERO), but there are two classical ovens (one big and one croissant); 3 - we will buy a kettle. We expect you very soon have been fantastic hosts.

Great house and garden. We would have loved a bigger kitchen and more appliances (no toaster, kettle, bowls...) but overall a very nice stay, very kind owners

“Perfect family get away.”
Reviewed 7 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed for two weeks at lovely Villa Augusta, just outside of Lecce, Italy. It was the perfect getaway place to relax and see the beautiful nearby cities and countryside, especially near the sea. We were visiting nearby family with our teenage daughter and hosted several meals for about 14 people on the lovely terrace. Antonio was a wonderful landlord, greeting us with Prosecco and sandwiches, and later treating us to a traditional Puglia breakfast the second week. He was super responsive to any needs, plus the house was gently cleaned twice per week with new clean towels provided. The pool is lovely and perfect for summer swimming - unheated, but great in warm temps. It was cleaned daily. The gardens are gorgeous and we loved feeding koi fish in the mornings. We did not have a mosquito problem with use of citronella candles and some rub-on repellent. The house is small but very liveable for about 5 people with so much outdoor space and lovely covered terrace with gas barbecue. Will need a car to get around for sure, but also good for visiting the lovely towns nearby and trying the local cuisine. Want to visit again soon!

I stayed at Villa Augusta in the first week of September with my family and children. The villa is great and set within a beautiful oasis of landscaped gardens. It was great for the children as it had a secure walled boundary with locked gates and the pool was securely fenced off. The first step in the pool was great for my three year old, who happily played with his toys on the side whilst being in the pool with his armbands and ring. He loved feeding the fish in the pond every day and trying to catch the lizards in the garden. The swings were great for my three year old and 18month old too.

The villa isn't far from Lecce so it's a great position to explore the region of Puglia but you definitely need to hire a car as we didn't see many taxis. An up to date sat nav would also come in handy.

The only down side to being in the middle of the countryside is the Mosquitos. I'm susceptible to bites so came off the worst but the rest of the family only had a few. There's lots of Mosquito repellant and spray supplied in the villa but I would recommend taking a supply too.

Antonio and his family are lovely, welcoming people. Their service was great, with welcome drinks (wine and coffee) and food from the region. They are very helpful too!

They have bath and beach towels for you to use so you don't have to worry about packing any.

My Husband, Father and 18 year old Brother were entertained by the bar football, chilling in the hammocks and taking the bikes out to explore the local area (oh and of course the wifi!).

I would recommend visiting Brindisi for the Saint Theodore festival (first week of sept). They have a brilliant light show and fireworks with lots of stalls.

I would also recommend visiting the beach Baia dei Turchi, north of Ortanto. The sea and woodland area you walk through is beautiful! We unfortunately went late in the day to miss the extreme heat from the midday sun with the children but the sun at that point has passed over the small little sandy bays and they were left in the shade. So if we every went again I would go early in the morning instead.

Also the sea food in Gallipoli was amazing!

The photos of villa augusta really don't do it justice, it's beautiful and spacious! I would highly recommend it. If we return to that part of Italy again I would definitely book villa augusta.

“The best Villa we've stayed in !”
Reviewed 1 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Set among beautiful and enclosed private gardens , this villa offered a perfect setting for our holiday, Space outside amazing (good for kids, plenty of space to run around in total security) Overall the villa was very clean , tidy and well maintained . Bedrooms were of a very good size , kitchen was a little on the small side (but didn't impact on our stay there!) , plenty of bathrooms , 2 bathrooms with a toilet and shower in the vicinity of the pool area.
A large property and felt very private due to its location and walled gardens.
Service was absolutely A1 , Antonio met us with food on arrival which i thought was a very thoughtful touch given our long day and even brought us breakfast prior to leaving for the airport . Very pleasant to deal with , always answered any questions within minutes ! One huge benefit at this property is the WIFI , absolutely key for looking up anything prior to a day out.
Local village is about 5 minutes drive away , Lecce (which is great!) is approx 20 mins by car. Overall a good location for exploring the area . Would recommend using the coordinates supplied to find the property , found it first time with a satnav - a must when travelling this area.
Fabulous place , fabulous villa and a genuine pleasure to deal with the owner. Highly recommended !
