Description: The "Rarità" restaurant & lounge in Lerici belongs to the scenery of the Gulf of Poets for over 25 years. The restaurant has a seafaring style: everything in shades of white adorned with decorative elements reminiscent of the interior of a ship. With a seating capacity for 60 people, next to the main hall, "Rarità" restaurant & lounge in Lerici also has a beautiful terrace facing the sea, where you can admire the beautiful Gulf of Poets and it’s extraordinary sunsets. The ideal location for romantic dinners by candlelight. The dishes offered by this restaurant are mainly based on seafood, prepared with fresh top quality fish. Also to be pointed out the possibility to have every dish on the menu gluten free, from the selection of breads to their famous “Spaghetti Rarità” with sea food to the best deep fried calamari ever.

“Perfect Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2012

We were only in Lerici for 3 days so I cannot review all the restaurants but of the three we tried this was way and ahead the best. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was first class and we enjoyed a very unusual wine at the recommendation of the boss. We would return tomorrow if we could.

“Perfect experience in Lerici even if you are traveling solo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2012

This was the perfect ending to my weekend in Lerici! Food was spectacular, cold and warm seafood appetizers were creative, simple yet tasteful. Quantity of food was just right, and good value for money. I had the spaghetti Rarita and it was amazing. Fresh seafood pasta, delicious! Great wine accompanied this beautiful meal, try Vermentino!! Service was also great, its been a long time I have seen people serving with such a big genuine smile. Thank you for an amazing experience, will come back for more :)

“A fantastic italian experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2012

We had a wonderful and pleasant tast of the Italian kitchen at Rarita restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was great. The menu has a nice mix of sea food and meat, so anyone will find a lunch or dinner that they like. My wife has Gluten intolerance which means she can not eat food like pasta and bread that contains Gluten. In many restaurants this is a problem, but when we explained this to the manager he just smiled and said "select anything from the menu" we will cook it specially for you.

We spent three nights in Lerici and before we found this restaurant we had dinner and lunch in two other restaurants in the same price range, and the quality and service was so much better at Rarita. We had dinner there two evenings and lunch before we traveld to florenze.

You leave this establishment with a smile and will want to come back.

“Surprising and tasty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2012

I have been to Rarita twice in the past few months, the first was with a large group and the food was just fantastic. I will limit this review to our most recent visit, which was this past weekend for our first wedding anniversary. We ordered from the menu so that we could pick what we wanted, they also have a great set menu for only 30 Euros.

My husband and I split the hot and cold seafood appetizers, which is also what we had the first visit. The appetizer consisted of a lot of variety, lots of different flavours, and lots of small dishes that didn't fill you up, which is good. The cold is still my favorite; Rarita has the best anchovies I have tasted in Italy. The octopus salad was delicious, as were the other fish dishes. The hot apps were a bit more adventurous for our taste, but good. One was a small octopus, which wasn't my favorite, but mostly because I'm not a fan of the texture. The other interesting item was tiny sea snails, which were pretty tasty.

For our pasta course we tried the lobster gnocchetti, which was delicious! We didn't know what to expect, but ended up with pieces of lobster within the gnocetti, we even had to use cracking tools which was fun (and funny). And the pasta was very very good. This place has the best gnocchi I have had also. For the main we both ordered the catch of the day, which was Turbot with zucchini. The flavours were unexpected but very good!

We also had the house white wine, which is good and went well with all the courses. Just a caution, this place is not for people who don't like fish, it is very fish-oriented. However, I would not suggest you miss it!

The host was also very charming and spoke fantastic English. He remembered us from a month before even though we were with a large group, which was great. The wait staff were also very friendly and attentive, despite how busy they got by the end of our meal. We will be back again very soon!
