We had a room with a small balcony that had spectacular views. This hotel is above the city of Lerici which provided the views and only a short walk to the city center. There is a climb up some stairs to get from city center to hotel but not steep and well worth the effort. The room rate also includes a wonderful extended European breakfast buffet; fruit, breads/pastries, meats and cheeses. Our favorite was the fresh orange juice machine - very cool. Great service; they helped us arrange a special meal for 4 couples at a seafood restaurant in town. Lerici was a better choice for a hotel than Cinque Terre - more options for nightlife and activities. Take the boat to Cinque Terre - best views of the 5 cities.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony.

I must say that I was sorry not to be able to stay more days. Excellent hotel, really. Room very good with the possibility to warm water for tea or coffee (provided). Sleep like a baby. The view from the breakfast room was amazing. The breakfast it self was completely amazing with plenty of choice with every thing you need. If you stay there a week you can take a different choice each morning. Really great. If you are getting up late you can have a brunch because the breakfast hours is great for that. They have no restaurant but you can use the one from the other hotel from the group a little bellow (The Doria, also stay there a couple of years back and the same quality). The only thing that was not good was the hiking from the town center where the restaurants are is really hard (if you came from the city center on foot), but I think this will not make me choose another hotel (probably can stay at the Doria that you hike a little less).

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Europa over Easter, trusting the good reviews and we haven't been disappointed. The thing we loved was the breakfast... Absolutely amazing... Italian breakfast with cakes and cookies, jam and different kind of bread and International breakfast with bacon, eggs, cheese, prosciutto... Fresh orange juice, fruit... We just loved it! The room was quite nice and the bed so big and comfortable! Helpful staff showed us how to reach Lerici, just walking down the hill for 10mins. The view from that point is just amazing, I can't even image how nice it could be during a sunny day, having breakfast on the terrace! Highly recommended!

I loved this hotel, great place for our group to stay and be able to get together in the evening. the breakfast was amazingly great. The fresh squeezed orange juice machine was awesome. The rooms were clean and we had a room with a patio out of our room. Very comfortable. This is my husband and I 's first trip to Italy and to start it there was unbelieveable. Beautiful.

Room Tip: I don't think out of 25 of us there was a bad room. Some larger than others but still very nice.

I will start with the highs - the views are amazing from this hotel. Breakfast was unbelievable - amazing selection and so fresh. Unfortunately, it is a hike up from the town where most restaurants are and the boat to visit Cinque Terre. The rooms are quite small and the walls are so, so thin. We could hear a group 2 floors down and heard all neighbouring doors shut. Bring earplugs, focus on the positives, and be prepared for a hike to the hotel, and it will be a good stay.
