“The worse hotel I have stayed at in my life”
Reviewed 24 October 2007

This was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Usually I would never write a review (never have) but we wanted to warn people about this hotel...despite several good reviews we read about it. The owners (husband and wife) are extremely cold and curt...not on the phone when you are booking but after you have checked in they don't seem to care at all. To start the room was horrible. The furniture was all press board that was chipped and the TV was microscopic (about 8 inchesd across - i could not beleive it). At the entrance there were 2 large fuse boxes that seemd to control the entire floor (as if it was a furnace room that they converted...and they called this their next best room to a suite) The shower was so small and the doors were cheap and broken and did not stay on the track. We were so dissapointed we sat on the bed for a second to concider leaving but it was late in the day and we were both really tired. I noticed the pillow was bumpy and I took a look inside. I was
disgusted to find yellow stains all over what looked like a very old and dirty pillow from a sofa. That was it...we called to complain and
told them we would like to leave. They said they would charge us 50 Euro anyway. Since the room was 80 and we were very tired we decided to stay but asked them to please exchange the pillow for a newer one and we left to go out for dinner. When we got back we were stunned to see that all they did was put an additional cover on the pillow. I
have never in my life been treated like this in a hotel and trust me we are not fussy and remained very calm and polite with each encounter...BE WARNED if you want to go to Levico Terme try another hotel there are many there.

  • Liked — The breakfast was okay but the dining room looked like a franchise tacky restaurant.
  • Disliked — The rude owners and the dirty room.

Our family of three (ages 11, 20 and 22) voted this hotel and the surrounding area as outstanding. The food was excellent and very imaginative. The staff made very effort to make guests feel welcome and the Hotel was first class in every aspect, except perhaps for the din of recycling bins being filled up in the early morning! Not a major issue but could be annoying to some.
We liked the classy spa pool in the basement and the sun lounge on the roof; places to relax in after a day out visiting.
The surrounding area is full of cultural and historical sights, the people friendly and the town of Levico is small, unspoiled and definitely not crowded.
There was excellent transport links, trips from the local tourist office and we spent a most enjoyable week in this beautiful part of Italy.
An uncrowded, friendly and welcoming town and an excellent hotel.

We stayed at this lovely Hotel in June 2006. It was clean but not particulary welcoming and the Manager/owner had a way of greeting me and I noticed fellow British female guests with ''My Lady'' which I found irritating.
The breakfast was good with plenty of choice of both hot and cold food, but go to breakfast early, as they are not good at replenishing the plates. For dinner there was plenty of choice and a great salad bar, it was good wholesome food.
The location of the Hotel was a good 10 minutes walk to the quiet lake, but it was in the middle of the small quiet town which was lovely to have a stroll through and had small interesting shops and restaurants. The views of the mountains all around were spectacular.
A walk of 10 minutes to the train and bus stations took you to the nearby town of Trento and beyond. Trento is worth a visit.
the bedrooms were basic but comfortable and clean and the bathroom very basic, with thin cotton towells.

  • Liked — Was peaceful and relaxing
  • Disliked — the bathroom and poor lighting
  • Tips/Secrets — go for breakfast early and bring shower gel/soap with you
