“A perfect hotel for a perfect honeymoon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2012

We stayed for 1 week for our honeymoon and wow what a perfect setting. We were met at Reception by Francesco who took us personally to our suite. Throughout our stay he was extremely helpful and informative. The hotel is absolutely beautiful; the suite we had was fantastic and we were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly from the hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic and the service impeccable, especially on the rooftop bar where Claudio looked after us perfectly. The resort itself is lovely with the most beautiful beach, which the hotel recommended to us. We will definitely be back....

Room Tip: We had a top floor suite with a side sea view which also had a stunning view of the mountains.

We were worried that the hotel would be unable to live up to the wonderful reviews we had read, but in fact it almost exceeded them. First impressions were excellent with the beautifully scented and well maintained gardens, check in staff greeted us with great courtesy, our junior suite was just lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners in the main dining room. All the staff we encountered were very professional and attentive. Well done to everyone concerned, with a special mention of Christian and his team in the dining room who went out of their way to be helpful at all times.

VERY relaxing time. My daughter and I spent there just one day. We chose it by chance to escape from high-pressure work and we found... the paradise! a beautiful venue with a private pinewood and an attractive swimming pool... the air was fragrant with the scent of jasmine...the room was large, comfortable, very elegant and perfectly clean! We had a very pleasant lunch on the border of the swimming pool...plenty of wholesome food. In the afternoon, we had a very special time in the SPA where we relaxed during a body massage and, after, in the indoor swimming pool. The staff is very friendly with beautiful smiles... and it is very efficient too! You should really try it!

Honestly where do I begin. From the moment my wife and I walked through the gates of this hotel our expectations were met and often surpassed up until the moment we checked out 7 days later. The junior suite we stayed in was beautiful, the pool and garden area was lovely and the roof bar was stunning. Nothing was ever too much for the staff and every single employee you passed would always greet you politely as if they wanted to not just because they had to, right through from the bell boy to the Hotel manager. We stayed on Half board basis, the choice at breakfast was fantastic and the evening meal was based on a 4 course menu (buffet style salad bar/ starter/ main and a dessert). Restaurant staff deserve a special mention as they seemed to be there round the clock and were always lively and chatty. The spa area was fantastic with sauna, turkish bath(steam room) and indoor pool that had a small jacuzzi style area at either end of it, there is also a gym that can be used all at no extra cost. There are treatments available in the spa that they have a menu for. All in this hotel is a little piece of paradise.

My husband and I stayed here from May 11th to May 18th 2012. The hotel was of a high standard, the staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. It was spotlessly clean everywhere. The gardens and the pool area were beautiful. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice ( although I don't know who eats steamed vegetables for breakfast) I would have loved them on the dinner menu! The poolside food was very good , especially the club sandwiches. The beach is'nt far from the Hotel and stretches for miles. We caught the bus into Pisa, it was only 6euros each there and back. you can get your bus tickets from a few places ,just look for the signs. Pisa was amazing ,we went on an open top bus for a city tour.
It was well worth going just to see the Leaning tower! We also caught the bus to nearby Viareggio which is also lovely with a picturesque Harbour. We only ate dinner in the hotel once as the menu was very limited, if you like fish and shellfish then you will be ok. I love Chicken and never had it once while we were there. Even the restaurants menus that we went to it was fish ,fish ,fish! Of course there are Pizzas and Pasta which I like , but did'nt want them every night. I would' nt stop us from going back though , just to stay at this lovely Hotel .I would recommend it to anyone who is going there, they made it a wondreful holiday and we would'nt hesitate to stay there again. Well done Una Versilia! Mr @ Mrs P Sayce.

Room Tip: we just asked for a high room and adouble bed which we got

I have just returned from staying at the Una Hotel Versilla (May 2012) and it was stunning! The rooms were of a very high standard- clean, spacious and with a walk in wardrobe! We ate breakfast in the hotel- plenty of choice and always tasty- you can even have your own individual smoothie made! The pool was big with comfortable sun loungers and there was also a spa with steamroom, jacazui and a gym! The grounds were very pretty and the hotel provide free bikes if you would like to cycle around!

Outside of the hotel theres a very big supermarket about a 10 minute walk away (at the end of JF Kennedy Road)- good for purchasing wine(!!), theres a lovely promenade with plenty of restaurants and a few shops when you come out of the hotel and turn left, and on Monday morning theres also a local market on JF Kennedy Road.

We stayed at this hotel in August 2011, 2 adults and 2 teenagers (aged 17&15) staying for 7 nights. We arrived at the hotel to find luxury cars in the car park - a promising start and when we went to the reception desk we were greeted with excellent English speaking and very friendly staff, who showed us to our room, carried our luggage and explained various things about the hotel. We were one of only a few English people in the hotel, although this didn't bother us as everybody was really friendly! Breakfast was simply superb, a huge variety (including made to order juices!) although we never ate at the hotel in the evening partly due to the extensive restaurants on the promenade varying from 5euros for a pizza to 20euros+ for seafood and also partly because it seemed slightly over priced. Also there is a roof top bar with stunning view of the sea but drinks were very expensive.
The rooms were well equipped including a small kitchenette (perfect if you wanted to up to the room and grab some lunch!) and the air conditioning was fabulous!
There was an indoor pool with a sauna showers and steam room which was never overly busy along with a heated outdoor pool, which was never packed and you would be greeted by the lifeguard who provided you with towels and showed you to sun beds(although on occasions there were only few spare).
The location of the hotel was perfect: just across the road is the beach (although you do have to pay unless you go on a 'free beach' which were always packed), and also the 4km promenade which was full of shops and restaurants on either side and often a market. Traditionally the Italians walk up and down between 7&8pm which creates a really lovely atmosphere!
I really recommend a hire car to go and visit fort de marmis (where the designer shops are), a tour of the marble mines and a trip to Lucca is a must! A simply beautiful walled town. Also ask the reception staff to recommend restaurants away from the promenade... we only did this on the last night and ended up at the BEST italian restaurant we'd ever been to!
Overall a fab holiday with lots to do and the teenagers were not bored in the slightest!
