I took my parents and daughter on holiday for 2 weeks to the Villa Ariston. Our room in the new building overlooked a 5 storey building site. We asked to be moved and were told the only room available was in the old building up 3 flights of steep stairs - not suitable for a toddler nor those of advancing years. Eventually they did find a suite in the new building at an extra cost and after much stressful negotiation with a rather officious and rude manageress (she would do well to learn from her more junior staff/ waiters who were lovely). Unfortunately due to the popularity of the hotel for weddings and business conferences the noise from Thursday night to Monday nights was unbearable. The new building and the main villa are both used for weddings - sometimes two a day at the week end and the celebrations afterwards which went on until the wee hours of the morning. I would say this is a great hotel for weddings but not for a relaxing holiday.
We did find a hotel up the road called the Hotel Augustus which had its own beach with a lovely restaurant and was within walking distance of Forte dei Marmi with pleasant shops, squares and restaurants......
