On TA recommendations we visited Il Galeone during our recent stay in Lipari. The welcome and service was great, they appear to welcome you trying out your Italian, mine is rubbish, however, always happy to give it a go.
My husband had pasta with Aeolian sauce, which was delicious, capers, olives, anchovies and tomatoes, I had a diavoli pizza, which was really nice, the crust was a little too thick for me and the addition of ricotta made it a little too creamy. Not the fault of the restaurant at all, just not to my taste. As his main course, my husband had tuna, lightly seared and coated in the lightest crumbs. The way it was presented was theatrical, fruits constructed into a sculpture and it was then set alight!
We enjoyed a lovely bottle of local wine and were presented with a very reasonable bill.
