The grounds at this hotel are really beautiful. The pool area is lovely, with lots of lounge chairs around. It also doesnt give off that crowded feeling you get at a number of resorts in August and peak holiday times, which is a big plus in my book. There is a poolside bar, fully stocked, although the 'bar tender' had no idea how to make drinks. After a few requests (v simple things like Amaretto Sour, margarita) we decided for easy... Rum and coke. Nothing to be so astonished over, but why put someone behind the bar who doesn't know how to mix drinks, and who also told us when we first walked up that she "hated" working as a bartender?!
One mportant thing to mention about this hotel is that it's divided up into two parts. One building I suppose is more recently acquired, which is across the street. Don't stay here. Our first room was on this side and it was so old + no hot water. Hotel staff very accounting and changed us straight away to a room in the main complex, which was much better. It was simple and cozy, nothing luxurious. I will say that besides the pool area and the relaxation factor there, the either big advantage of this place is the location to downtown. Its a few minute walk to the main street in the center.
In terms of food, we only had breakfast and it was fine - the had your standard cold cuts, fruits, cereals, and yogurt. There was also an omelette station which was a nice addition if you had your fill of muesli and yogurt!
Otherwise, only huge bummer was that I left my passport there. They asked me for it when I checked in and when we checked out, of course I didn't even think to ask for it and they didn't think to give it back--but italian law requires they make a copy, not keep it, so that was a mistake there. In addition, it took them about one month to mail it back to me, which is unacceptable.
All in all, it was an Ok place to stay if you wAnt a hotel with a nice pool that is very close to the center.

Room Tip: Request a room in the main complex, not in the building across the street-- bit isolated over there, plus it feels alot older. Also remember to ask for your passport back when you checkout!
