We were a group of 4 families staying in this hotel for 1 week. Overall we had a very good experience with this hotel. Especially the location is fantastic so close to the 2 small blue slopes where we could let the kids play and ski as they wanted all by themselves.
We could not get our rooms before after 3 pm. though we were told only to wait 5 minutes and it took over 1 hour. The 2 family rooms were old and could do with a make over, e.g. the hand bassin tap top was falling off all the time, the soap holder in the shower had broken, the beds were a bit short (OK for 168 cm). The cleaning could be better as there e.g. was a small spiderweb in the bathroom the whole time we were there. My 7 year old son had a small nose bleed 2nd night, so there came a bit of blood on the bed sheets and they did not change them once though we put the bed linen with the 2 marks clearly on the top of his bed. There was only bath gel and no shampoo provided. However, the staff was extremely friendly and it wasnt just in the hotel but all over Livigno. It was a pleasure to be tourist there. The 2 other rooms were new and the rooms were very nice and light. They were very pleased.
Regarding the food, the food was in general very well prepared. Breakfast was excellent. However, the menu in the evening after a couple of excellent meals started to become a bit weird - the choice could e.g. be scambled eggs, another day fried egg, or homemade sausage meat (needed spices), risotto (a bit undercooked), horse meat, veal shin!, pork cheek (latter was a very nice surprise), bread soup (not very nice).
Wifi didnt work after a few days.

This was the 5th time we stayed at Hotel Alba, and every time it improves. The newly refurbished rooms are up to **** quality, and dinnertime, with Roberto in the kitchen is always a pleasant surprise. The title of gourmet hotel really is well deserved !
Add to this the fact that the ski lift is about 5 minutes away, the skibus stops about 100 meters away and you can return to the hotel on skis, what more do you need ?
Only downside : the wellness area (sauna, whirlpool) really needs refurbishing.

We have been in Livigno several times, this was the first but not the last stay at Alba. The owners Tatiana and Roberto as well as their staff were very friendly and familiar, we often stay in 5-stars accomodations all over the world but we will keep Alba in our minds. Clean, nice and healthy diner and breakfast, not to busy, good and large garage so you don't have to dig your car out of the snow. We booked again for 2012 and recommand this hotel to all our relatives in Belgium and The Netherlands! Thank you so much.

My wife and I, along with our 2 children (ages 9 & 12) stayed here for the first time for one week ski trip from Ireland. We had been to Livigno before and were keen to return again. We had read other tripadvisors' memeber's reviews of Hotel Alba and booked.
The stay lived up to & exceeded our expectations. The family room had the children's single beds in a loft area with a double bed in the main room area with balcony. It was perfect for our requirements.
The food is definately the hotel's speciality with an evening 5 course meal. Although the dishes are not huge, it was even enough for my large appitite!.
With regards to location, it cannot be better for skiing with just a fifty metre walk to the ski pass and ski rental where you can leave your skis overnight. Hotal Alba also has a ski room. Again, the ski rental/overnight store is at the base of skilift 17 where you can ski to lift 18. This is where all the classes for this area start most mornings.
The staff are very courteous and helpful and speak english.
If you are thinking of travelling to Livigno, we would urge you to try out Hotel Alba.

Very cozy ski-in hotel and very clean in all places. The dinner was more than excellent with many delicius courses. Also great breakfast. All of our group (18 adults and children) enjoyed our stay in Hotel Alba. Many thanks to Fam. Longa and their staff.

Good location, close to the lifts, especially for families with kids. The is a chair lift of beginner slope (very unusual). Excellent food with good service and very pleasant owners.

I shouldn't give this tip away, because then loads of people will come to this hotel, so there is no room left for us . . . ;-)
Anyway, this small hotel is really a gem : you are very close to a skilift which takes you easily to the Carrossello skiarea. And even better : in the evening you can end your skiing day right at the backdoor. The ski slope stops at the hotel. After your skiing day you can enjoy shopping in Livigno. Dinner at the hotel is something that you really look forward to : Roberto himself (the manager) manages to make **** meals for a *** prize ! And you end your day very quietly in a comfortable bed. The only thing that needs change is the wellness area, but the hotel already has plans to renovate it.
We will most certainly return !
