“Shopping weekend in livigno”
Reviewed 30 September 2012 via mobile

Hotel is central position quite close to central square. Close to ski plants and shopping area (livigno is famous tax free village). Clean and nice. Cheap in low season period when compared to The average.

We used to stay at their other hotel a while ago, but this one is way better, gentile staff good breakfast and food.
it's located right in the towncenter verry close to the lifts, just try to eat there at night it's sublim !!
the rooms are also great, just are the baths a little bit small for an average person. But overall it doesn't bother me

Reviewed 7 March 2012

Just returned from a trip to the village of Livigno. Stayed there from 25 of February 2012 till 3 of March 2012.
We lived at the ALPINA Hotel with our big family – me and my wife and our daughter with her husband and three children.
We all go skiing, our grandchildren are just learning to ski.
Regarding the hotel ALPINA.
Been agreed beforehand that the family of our daughter and we have to live in the neighboring rooms, and that family with children need a big room. There have been very pleased - Family Room had two rooms, lots of windows, lots of places for things.
Our room was just next and also comfortable.
The hotel is located in the four-story historic building. The owners preserved and restored many lovely authentic items, furniture, paintings. The atmosphere sets the mood.
Building is located in the heart of Livigno - in the pedestrian zone. There is free parking, underground parking (extra charge).
We used a ski-room, but it should be noted that the shoes dry is bad, it was necessary to take the inner boots and finally dried in the room. Radiators in the room allow it.
The beds are comfortable, warm blankets, pillows here are not very good – looks that it's time to change them.
Noise from the street does not interfere with sleep, as the windows are double-glazed. Plumbing is a good, clean, tidy.
Kitchen. Separately, I want to note the waiter Angelo, he helped us for breakfast and dinner. Very nice, attentive, cheerful. Thanks to him we were guided well dining restaurant menu. During the week we tried a variety of dishes, including the original Italian dishes which are the restaurant's Gardena specialties.
The owner of the hotel - Signor Lino, knowing that we are already the third time in a vacation in the network ALPINA - before we visited the apartment Chalet Garden, pleased us special offers - vouchers in Aquagrande, welcome drinks, even offered to make room upgrade at Superior. It was very nice but our room fits us very well.
Breakfast was usual - five varieties of ham and sausage, a couple of cheeses, yogurt, cereal, muesli. Several kinds of coffee from coffee machine – cappuccino, espresso…. Can be ordered scrambled eggs or an omelet to your liking.
Dinner consists of 3 courses - the first - soup or pasta, the second - the main dish of meat, fish, could be cold plate also. Desserts - tiramisu, Panna Cotta, ice cream, sherbet, etc. There is a salad bar.
We really liked our vacation week spent at the hotel Alpina and we will gladly come here again.

In the center of Livigno Hotel Alpina continues a long tradition of excellent quality and good value under new owners. Staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful and the location in the center of town means you do not need a car to access all the outdoor activities and shopping. The restaurant has a wide range of choices including traditional dishes such as pizzoccheri (buckwheat pasta with potatoes, butter, cheese, sage, and swiss chard - bring a cardiologist) to terrific pizza and grilled meats. The half pension menu did not change during the week we were there but the staff was quite willing to offer substitutes off the main menu. The wine selection was excellent - try the local Valtellina wines. The breakfast menu was basic with coffee from a high quality self-service machine, an assortment of rolls and 1 type of brioche, yogurt, cereal and juice. This worked fine until the dining room got full on a Saturday morning and the line for the self-service coffee got rather long. Plan a trip to Aquagranda (the large pool/health/spa facility at the edge of town) but make sure you leave plenty of time to explore all the facilities. Also do not miss ice cream or special coffee at the Latteria where you can see ice cream, cheese and yogurt production. Bike rentals available just outside the hotel - from city bikes to tandems to high quality mountain bikes for adults and kids. The town has over 20 kilometers of rolling bike and walking trails that take you back and forth the valley and then spectacular mountains all around with hiking and single track biking in the summer and great skiing in the winter.

We are an energetic family with 2 boys ages 7 and 11. The hotel was comfortable, the staff friendly and the food delicious. The hotel is a short walk from the ski school, ski hire and main lift area. We left our skis at Max Ski hire so didn't have to walk in ski boots. the hotel staff were very accommodating. We invited friends to the hotel for dinner, who were also impressed. The Family room was perfect for us with 2 separate bedrooms, a small balcony and LOTS of cupboard space. highly recommended for ordinary folk like us!

Just back from a weeks skiings in Livigno after staying in the Alpina Hotel. If your looking for a big Hotel with a swimming pool and health club then this is not the Hotel for you. But if your looking for a Hotel with a central location, near the Ski lifts and town centre then this is the Hotel for you. The Staff are friendly and the service, food and rooms are great. Both my wife and I would recommend this Hotel for any couple planning a Ski Trip to Livigno.

sorry for delay but i forget to write a review earlier, but when i was checking my summer mexico resort traveler rewiew it remind me to.
we had with my partner brilliant time at this hotel and in livigno. we are normally spending our ski holiday in austria but everyone know about this year snow situation in austrian alps. i have admit we made hell of good decision to go to livigno and alpina. weather was perfect no surprise that they have sun in village symbol. it is not that we were lucky they are saying that most of the winter is sunny. so it is simple: great weather+good price+great food+nice staff+beautiful ski slopes= brilliant holiday.
hotel itself is not exlusive or nice refurbished but is very clean and has everything what you need. but most important staff was great and what we loved much were the dinners. we were in italy couple of times on our summer holiday so we know italian cuisine but here it was something different what makes it so special. we didnt know most of the courses name so randomly picked up and have never been disapointed what they brought on our next dinner. even we had starters, soup and main course i couldnt resist to have those desserts. i swear to god i gained few kilos even we were skiing whole day.
we met nice germans people in their 60's 70's here and what is amazing they are staying here in this hotel last week in january for last 40 years. waw 40 years amazing.
iwe are definitely coming back again.

sorry for my english but its not my native language.
