“Nice, friendly hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2011

We enjoyed our stay at the Intermonti. The location was great as you can ski right down to the hotel.
The food at the hotel was very good especially the breakfast and the buffet on our last night.
The rooms are quite large and we had a four poster bed which we loved.
There was an apres ski evening which was a lot of fun and we are still talking about it now.
We will definitely come back to this hotel next year.

The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to a ski slope. You walk across the parking lot, snap on your skis and ski down to the lift. That being said, the Intermonti is located about 1.5 miles from downtown Livigno, where all of the action is. However, a bus system takes people to and from the other side of town every 10 minutes. So if you want to eat at a restauarant or ski the other side of the valley, you will need to drive or take a bus.

The quality of our room was average when compared to other hotels we've stayed at in northern Italy. The bed is hard and the pillows are flat, but this is the norm. The bathroom is nice, but not extraordinary. Wireless internet is only available in the main lobby of the hotel... BIG drawback. Breakfast is your typical Italian hotel fare: lots of breads, cured meats, yogurt, fruit, cereal and eggs made to order. Again, nice but nothing above average.

Overall, this hotel is nice, but not remarkable.

I found this hotel at Trip Advisor and spend there a week in February.
To be honest I really don´t know why is this hotel so popular! Furnishing is very very old, reception staff is almost unfriendly (i.e. knowone says thank you after paying bill for 1400 euro), no mini bar in room, no place for snowboars in ski depozit etc. The only advantage was delicious food in the restaurant and very friedly waiters.
This actually is not a 4 star hotel – it´s basic 3 star hotel!

We stayed here in January for a week's skiing and although the weather and the skiing were both excellent, we found this hotel very variable. On arrival, after a very long day's travelling, the receptionist could not have been more off hand, throwing us our room keys while on the phone. The trek to our room took a full 10 mins - involving 2 very long corridors, 3 flights of stairs and 2 separate lifts. Not easy with our cases - anyone with mobility issues would have had real problems. The bins in the room had not been emptied, the tap in the bathroom dripped constantly and the bed was rock hard. Not a good start, made worse by a very ordinary meal of overcooked schnitzels. However in the morning a most helpful receptionist apologised, changed our room and arranged for our cases to be taken there. Staff smoked in the corridors but the staff in the restaurant were excellent and the Maitre D ran a tight operation however the food varied from awful (tinned tuna hidden in a mountain of cold potato) through very ordinary (dry roasted chicken the size of a parrot) through acceptable (venidson casserole) to superb - the final buffet on our last night was magnificent with seafood, prawns, breseola, parma ham, poached salmon, roast beef, roast suckling pig, large variety of vegs etc and huge dessert buffet. Why could some of this excellent produce not have appeared during the week. Breakfasts were good with a short order cook making omelettes etc although the same limited range of tinned fruit and croissants / bread appeared every day. The hotel is situated a good way out of the village so an evening stroll is not possible. The ski bus service is excellent and we never waited more than a few minutes for one to come, however this finishes at ~7.30pm - after that you need to take a taxi. The claim 'ski-in, ski-out' is dubious - the hotel sits at the end of a black run, the ski bus is needed to get to all the lifts. We tried the Wellness Centre for which a charge of 6 euros each is levied. This is a small whirlpool, small steam room (which comfortably takes only 2) and 2 saunas each would take maybe 4 people. It was a very limited facility for the size of the hotel. Wifi is not available in the rooms but is in reception. Two computers are available for which there were often queues. 2hr internet log-ins were handed out free of charge which was good. Overall we felt that this hotel has the potential to be very good but misses out on too many aspects of what you expect in a quality hotel nowadays.

Stayed here for an overnight stop on the journey through to the Italian Lakes via the Stelvio Pass. The hotel is a gem. Obviously it is geared to the sking trade and it was the middle of summer. It is located just out of town and has free parking. There appeared to be a bus service into town for those that needed it. The reception staff speak english and make you feel welcome. The rooms are well presented and large. In the basement is a swimming pool and Sauna for guests. It offers great views across tha valley.

Very nice hotel located right at the slopes. You can ski straight down fom the Mottolino side which we always look for when we choose a hotel. Staff were very friendly especially the reception, bar and restaurant. Prices for a 4 star hotel were very reasonable, especially the wine prices and cocktails at the bar. The buffet on Friday night was very good as was the food in general.
We definitely liked this hotel and will return next year.

We've just got back from a very good holiday in Livigno. We stayed with friends in the Intermonti and enjoyed it very much.

The hotel is very large with rooms in the main building or in the other 3 chalet buildings. We had a room in the main building and our friends were in the Chalet building. The prices are a bit higher for the main building but the front facing rooms have great views over Livigno. The hotel is located above the village but there's a free shuttle bus right outside the hotel it only takes a few minutes to reach the other lifts and the village centre.
You can ski down from the Mottolino right to the door which for us was great as we prefer hotels that are located right beside the lifts.

The rooms in the hotel are a fair size and extremely clean. The only thing that we noticed was that the room doors are a bit dated but other than that they were fine.

The food was very good, it's the only ski resort hotel that we've stayed in that has a chef cooking eggs to order at breakfast.
The menu was very varied with 3 or 4 choices for each course and there's a great buffet on Friday night with fresh fish.

The staff were all very nice, especially the bar and reception.

We have already booked again to stay in the Intermonti next year and are really looking forward to it.
