Very nich kitchen,a specially last evening...... and a litlle old fashion rooms. I had theroom without balcony and it was not confortable . We had long distance to restaurant. Sometimes it was a pitty, that i didn't take same hotel in the citIntermonti hotel is high on a hill and there is No chance to walk on foot to the city, especially from the back. however, is quite good communication with the city, luckily the first bus stop directly outside the hotel.

Room Tip: Take the room wita balcony

It is the best hotel I have ever stayed in winter in. To the chairlift is exactly 200 steps over a parking place. 10m from the main entrance or from the ski-room is the end-stop of two ski-buses; there is always a sitting place and you never wait longer than 10min.
Rooms are large and clean, food tasty and personel friendly. Ski-room is heated and ventillated and there is a separate box for a room. Ski service is on premises and ski-rent in the next building.
Livigno is located at the bottom of a long valley running along the NS axis.Pistes are on either side (easier on the west side), gondolas and lifts are really modern. Hotel Intermonti is in the Teola district, on the east side and quite high up. In late March slopes on either side are under sun operation, but those above Intermonti are steeper and less exposed. Skiing on that side is far better; only after 2pm the end part of final descent may be a bit wet. The opposite slopes are quite wet already at 11.
Skiing down to the hotel is possible but along a black piste. Though less difficult than the one from Monte della Neve to the Valvin Monte Neve chair lift (no 4), it is not to be recommended for beginners, especially afternoon. Better choice is to ski from Mottolino restaurant to the Mottolino gondola station and to take a ski-bus there.
There is no evening entertainment in the hotel; all is to be found down in Livigno. Return is problematic as ski-buses run until ca. 7pm only and a walk is long and steep at the end.
Livigno is a nice town with remarkably well preserved old wooden houses. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping (it is a duty-free zone) may be attractive. Of local products cheese deserves a high recommendation (mild Casera, seasoned Vecchio or strong Gnama alike) - I have found a big choice in a market at V. Li Pont; the aperitif "Livigno" is rather poor.
Tips: There is no aggressive smell of chlorine at the hotel pool. Unlike other hotels in the mountains tap water is hard and it is possible to wash every trace of soap off. In the bar they have a German newspaper of the day and an English of yesterday.

Room Tip: Intermonti is in fact a combination of 3 buildings interconnect6ed with a net of corridors and lifts...

We (family with 3 kids) spent a week of our ski-holiday in the Intermonti, just before Easter 2012. The hotel is a bit too big with long 'walking distance' between the bedrooms and the central areas (reception, restaurant, bar, pool, ...) of the hotel. The accomodation is a mix of nice, relatively modern parts and other more outdated elements. We enjoyed good Italian food, with very friendly service at the table. Halfboard was included in our total holiday package, wine was at reasonable prices and of good quality. Overall, the friendliness of the staff was mixed: some were really friendly and helpfull other behaved very much routinelike and distant.
The hotel is located close to the slopes and to a ski rental office, which is quite practical. Also public transport (bus) is at only a few meters from the hotel which compensates for the fact that the village is more than walking distance away.
The week we were there the internet service was really bad: there was no day the internet worked properly and i had to go to the hotel nextdoors to do some e-mails. Really lousy.
The pool was quite big, but that's also necessary for a hotel of this size.
All in all we had a great week here, but the hotel does not really stand out.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2012

We spent a week at the Intermonti leaving on the 24th March 2012. We travelled with Inghams on a Ski Package.
The first thing I would say is that having been to Livigno many times the location of this Hotel is not ideal, in my view, as it is slightly out of town and therefore not so great for being involved in the general after ski activities or shopping. However having said that it benefits from a very good bus service (catch the yellow line to return from town and the red service to travel into town) during the day, the last bus from town is around 7.30pm so taxi after that which varies from 6 to 8 Euros. The hotel is on the Mottolino side of the valley at the Teola chairlift which is at the bottom of the Georgio Rocca ski run which is classified as a black run, however Livigno is largely a beginners / intermediate resort and really doesn't have any black runs, I would call it a nice Red.

This is a large hotel by Livigno standards comprising of the main building and 3 annexes. It has a small internal shop, swimming pool, games room, bar, function room etc. It has a large reception area and the rooms seem to be of a reasonable size, both rooms we had were in an annex, both had balconies. The rooms were a bit of a trek and hard to locate on the first attempt so ensure you understand the instructions from reception, otherwise you will have to ask again and the trip to Livigno is a long one so like us you will probably be tired.

Our rooms had good bathrooms with great showers, but two minor points, the heating couldn't be turned down which was an issue if you don't like sleeping in a hot room. Also although we had a balcony there was no furniture to sit on, so if you want to sit out on the balcony then you have to drag bedroom furniture outside. I don't mind doing this, but would expect a four star hotel to have seating on the balcony. Finally, apparently, the hair dryer was pretty poor, not an issue to me though !!
The rooms were very clean and made up very well every day. In fact the hotel as a whole was very clean, although beginning to feel a little dated.

The food at this hotel was generally good and sometimes very good, no complaints considering the overall cost of the holiday and we think it offers exception value. The menu is posted for you to look at in the morning so if the food is not to your liking it gives you the option to plan ahead and try one of the many excellent restaurants in Livigno. The waiters were very good, the restaurant is very busy and mostly efficiently run.

In my view the waitresses didn't have the same level of skill and on one occasion we felt rushed at the evening meal by one of the waitresses, not ideal when on holiday.

We had a great holiday in Livigno and would return, however having been to Livigno many times skiing, this hotel should be seen for what it is, a good base for a ski holiday and it has a great policy for single room occupancy. Predominantly, in my view, a great family hotel, they put on children's entertainment throughout the week so if you want to join in as a family its ideal.

I would return to this hotel, however it wouldn't be my first choice in Livigno, as there are better hotels in the centre of the resort in my view.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main hotel overlooking the valley.

I went to this hotel with Inghams as part of a ski trip. I was well satisfied with my room and the meals were superb. The restaurant was staffed by mainly men but some women. They were very friendly and sociable with a good sense of humour. Most appeared to have been there for a long time. The food really was excellent in quality and varietyThe reception area had two computers for free public use and there was free wi-fi for people with their own laptops. The hotel is of a rather strange layout and the lifts do not always respond to a press on the button.
Yes the hotel is 3km from the centre of Livigno but this is not a problem for skiers. The red bus leaves the hotel every 10 or 15 minutes and goes around the town in an anti-clockwise direction stopping by all the main lifts. The yellow bus follows a similar route in the opposite direction. The buses are free to ski pass holders but I have never seen anyone check any passes which is useful for people who arrive and want to get the hotel before they have a chance to buy a pass.
I hate to criticise the hotel which looked after me so well but there were quite a few guests who were noisier than I have ever come across before in a ski hotel.

Room Tip: It may be worth asking for a quiet room.

A big hotel with long long walks to reach your room. But close to the slopes and a bus stop next to the hotel so excellent location. Very friendly mgmt. Very good food both in the morning as in the evening. Certainly an option if I would return to Livigno.

We enjoyed our stay at the Intermonti. The location was great as you can ski right down to the hotel.
The food at the hotel was very good especially the breakfast and the buffet on our last night.
The rooms are quite large and we had a four poster bed which we loved.
There was an apres ski evening which was a lot of fun and we are still talking about it now.
We will definitely come back to this hotel next year.
