The hotel used to be good, now it is run down, rooms are clean, staff is generally friendly, but the food is mediocre. Pity.
Pool is ok, fitness room isvirtually nonexistant.
Although at the terminal station of two buslines, after 1900hs you must walk, and it is far off the center.

Intermonti hotel is at Mottolino part of ski resort Livigno. The advantage is, that the hotel is nearby the slopes. You can walk to the slope. It takes 2 mns. Also the ski rental next door offers good quality of the ski for a reasonable price. Just the lobby, restaurant and hotel bar are reconstructed. Some of the rooms are reconstructed as well, some of them not. In the old rooms you can feel much smoke. We asked to change the room and we were lucky. The new room was fine.
The staff in the restaurant is not very pleasant in the unexpected situations. We cancelled the dinner (half board) one evening, we went to another restaurant. And later on, one of our kids had a fever, so some of us stayed at the hotel instead of going out. The staff refused to give to two of us an unexpected dinner while 5 members of our group at the same table forgot to cancel their dinner and their seats remained unoccupied.

Very nice and clean hotel with very kind staff. Got bigger room than expected, which was very clean and with amazing view on alps. Rooms were cleaned and towels were changed everyday. Two things by which we were a bit disappointed: the location of the hotel (out of the centre, on the other part of mountains, was difficult to catch a bus there because of the Christmas time); Breakfast in the hotel could be better, did not have a big variety of food for 4* hotel. But the overall mood about the hotel was great!

Great location. Quiet. Big rooms. Decent breakfast. Sauna sucks but kids liked the pool. This place is great for families and, surprisingly, anyone who values a good sleep - it's very quiet at night. Great views and super close to chair lift. Recommended.

Hotel is quite old and some furnitures are looking old (not styled), but is very comfortable, clean and very near slopes. You can go by walk to Teola ski lift from parking (50 meters or so). You can also ski to the parking but the slope is black marked to be careful, but it is very comfortable you don't need to go by ski bus. Rooms are clean and comfortable, maybe not most beautiful, but ok, take an apartment with two rooms, very good idea. Breakfasts are ok, not very different but food is good. I recommend this hotel if you plan to go mostly for skiing. And the pool is ok, not big, but good for swimiing.

Room Tip: Take an aparment with two rooms, very comfortable, near parking exit, it is nearest way to slopes.

It is the best hotel I have ever stayed in winter in. To the chairlift is exactly 200 steps over a parking place. 10m from the main entrance or from the ski-room is the end-stop of two ski-buses; there is always a sitting place and you never wait longer than 10min.
Rooms are large and clean, food tasty and personel friendly. Ski-room is heated and ventillated and there is a separate box for a room. Ski service is on premises and ski-rent in the next building.
Livigno is located at the bottom of a long valley running along the NS axis.Pistes are on either side (easier on the west side), gondolas and lifts are really modern. Hotel Intermonti is in the Teola district, on the east side and quite high up. In late March slopes on either side are under sun operation, but those above Intermonti are steeper and less exposed. Skiing on that side is far better; only after 2pm the end part of final descent may be a bit wet. The opposite slopes are quite wet already at 11.
Skiing down to the hotel is possible but along a black piste. Though less difficult than the one from Monte della Neve to the Valvin Monte Neve chair lift (no 4), it is not to be recommended for beginners, especially afternoon. Better choice is to ski from Mottolino restaurant to the Mottolino gondola station and to take a ski-bus there.
There is no evening entertainment in the hotel; all is to be found down in Livigno. Return is problematic as ski-buses run until ca. 7pm only and a walk is long and steep at the end.
Livigno is a nice town with remarkably well preserved old wooden houses. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping (it is a duty-free zone) may be attractive. Of local products cheese deserves a high recommendation (mild Casera, seasoned Vecchio or strong Gnama alike) - I have found a big choice in a market at V. Li Pont; the aperitif "Livigno" is rather poor.
Tips: There is no aggressive smell of chlorine at the hotel pool. Unlike other hotels in the mountains tap water is hard and it is possible to wash every trace of soap off. In the bar they have a German newspaper of the day and an English of yesterday.

Room Tip: Intermonti is in fact a combination of 3 buildings interconnect6ed with a net of corridors and lifts...
