I have stayed here 3 times now and it is the best Ski hotel ever. The decor is a perfect mix of traditional and contemporary styles. The rooms, lounge and restaurant have all be finished tastefully. The spa is something else with a pool, steam room, sauna as well as many other goodies - very relaxing and perfect after a hard day on the slopes. Can't fault the service, drop off and pick up to the lifts each day, great wine and the food is sensational. The breakfasts have great fresh fruit as well as a wide selection of hot and cold dishes. The dinners are a four course affair with complimentary amuse bouches. The one thing that stands out is the quality of the ingredients with no expense spared.
It is a small 31 room hotel, which has a lovely personal feel to it which is missing in the larger establishments.
If I could design my perfect boutique ski hotel then this would be it.

Room Tip: Interconnecting rooms for a family of four are ideal.

To beat this hotel. A true boutique. Small, intimate, not arrogant but very high quality. Service and staff just superb. Difficult to think of anywhere better. Breakfast was fabulous. Ski shuttle and storage perfect. Dinner was good. But also nice to get out in Madonna. All in all just a great place. Will be back.

We only stayed here for 2 nights having stayed at the Hermitage. We love the modern look and it looks great. But we found the staff very surly not at all like the staff at the Hermitage. Rooms were lovely but lighting terrible couldn't see a thing! Didn't get the climbing wall in the bathroom at all. Would of been more benefit of having a towel rail in there no were to hang used towels.
Not very soundproof rooms. We could here everything from next doors bathroom.
Our chap who transported us to the ski slopes was very helpful on one day he told us to start somewhere else because it was extremely busy where we were gong to head for. Note that 4.15 lift closed on a Friday and shuttle had to come through a lot of traffic to get us back in time to return boots and skis. Which he did.
Used spa. Pool cold. Sauna good. Steam not very hot. Relax area nice. With teas and water.
We only had breakfast one morning which was very good.
Out of the two hotels we preferred the Hermitage.

Room Tip: Nice view but not very soundproof

Incredibly impressed with the staff at this beautiful hotel. The service they provided was excellent and there seemed to be a genuine desire to make our break as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. This attitude clearly came from the top as the first person we met was the Owner himself as he arrived gallantly to rescue us late at night when our hire car's snow chains broke and we became stuck 10k way in a snowstorm. He kept the kitchen open late so we could eat on arrival and arranged, free of charge, the recovery of our car whilst we swanned off skiing the next morning. As I said, an incredible service which continued throughout our stay. We will definitely be returning.

Had never skied Madonna before and we fancied a change from the usual packaged chalet trip so when we saw this was in the Mr & Mrs Smith stable we jumped at it, taking the bed and breakfast option for seven nights.

Loved it from the moment we arrived - friendly staff, lovely Classic room at the back of the hotel with a side-room to hide your baggage, very comfortable beds (we didn't need to make any special selections from the pillow menu !) and gorgeous rain shower. The hotel will shuttle you to and from the Spinale ski-lift from their basement garage (next to the ski locker room) though the main ski buses run right past the hotel too (and its only a ten minute walk anyway). Lovely choice at breakfast (especially the cheese, and the cake) though Pasquale seemed disappointed that it took till day 5 before I took up his offer of cooked eggs !

First two nights we ate in the hotel 'bistrot' (we had no idea what we were going to pay, as it is generally for those on the half-board option so the menus don't have prices, and we decided not to ask !) and then on the third night we upgraded to chef Enrico's Michelin-starred Dolomieu in an adjoining room (reviewed separately). Confess that on our first night we assumed the quaint 'stube' room was the bistro, and that the more modern looking starched-cloth rig-out of the larger room was for the Michelin diners ! The food in the bistrot is not far short of the quality of the Dolomieu (unsurprisingly there is an element of crossover, especially on some of the ingredients) and we were extremely happy to accept smaller portions than others might expect, for the sheer quality. The pureed bacalao, duck with dried figs, poached egg with potato sauce and truffle oil were all worthy of the highest accolade. We had another couple of bistrot dinners before the week was out, and when we did eventually get to see that we were only paying €40 a head each for the four courses each night (the different between their B&B and half-board rates) we were more than pleasantly surprised.

The restaurant prides itself on local sourcing and I was particularly pleased to find some local beers in the bar (bottles from Ducato and Val Rendena breweries), and even temporarily took up smoking again when I found they had a smoking room adjoining the bar - seemingly more comfy seats and definitely superior piped music !

All in all, a wonderful week and we are quite surprised that both the hotel and the Dolemieu don't score higher on Tripadvisor - if there are that many better hotels and restaurants in Madonna then they must be very magical indeed.

Just returned from 10 nights with half board. We are already planning to return next year with a group of friends. We had a suite and classic room for our family of 3. Stylish, spacious, warm and clean. Wonderful service from great staff. Just genuinely nice people. Outstanding shuttle service to the slopes. Better than ski in ski out because you could arrive back at any point to the village and with one phone call, Danny would appear within minutes to take your skis and transport you back to the hotel. Possible to walk to the cable car but never necessary as personal transfer was always there. The meals were outstanding. Extensive and delicious breakfast and amazing evening dinner from a young chef who has just gained a Michelin star. The first of many to come I would suggest. Absolutely amazing taste experiences. A highlight of our stay were our snow shoe walks with the owner of the hotel. His genuine warm hospitality filters down to his staff. A great source of information as well. Great hotels are those that treat you like a valued and welcome guest and this was how we felt at DV Chalet. A truly wonderful hotel.

We have just returned form a week stay in DV Chalet in Madonna di Campiglio and we fell in love with the place. It has a character and mountain spirit - it's cosy, and friendly, yet very stylish, with beautifully designed, spacious interiors. The food was great, we had a
few course dinner each evening, so we could sample the flavours of the local cuisine, and the food at the hotel's Michelin starred restaurant Dolomieu, was just perfect (the goat milk risotto was heavenly!). We enjoyed the good food, amazing wines (thanks Pasquale!), and the friendliness of the staff. The staff would go extra length to provide the best possible service and accommodate our requests. We were travelling with a 6 month old baby, and the staff was always ready to help to make his and our stay most comfortable (which included arranging a good nanny). Special thanks go to Sandra, Francesca, and of course the owner of the hotel, who would give us any help needed.
The location is very good within a few minutes walk to the main shopping street, and the views from the hotel are amazing. Campiglio is a great place for skiing and also apres ski activities, the choice is really great. And the town is really lovely to take a walk.
Overall, we enjoyed the stay very much and would definitely recommend the DV Chalet to anyone considering going to Campiglio. Grazie mille!!!
