“Residence due torri”
Reviewed 29 June 2013

Very good. The residence is a few minutes walk from the beach and had a balcony in the living room and in the bedroom with an amazing landscape. The kitchen was equipped with plates, pans and cuttlery. The furniture is new and the fridge and frezzer has a lot of space.
The breakfast, which is served in the top floor of the Hotel due torri, is very good.
The apartment was very clean and tidy, but if you're allergic avoid using the coverlet because my girlfriend was sneezing a lot.
In overall, I really recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for the apartments with balcony

Booked in for 2weeks and the views across the Amalfi coast from our balcony are absolutely stunning.
The rooms themselves are very spacious and light, minimal furniture but sufficient for our needs. The apartments were completely refurbished a couple of years ago and they still feel like new.
The walk into town is a bit hairy as the Italian drivers don't stop or slow down for anyone so you need to keep your wits about you.
The private beach is a bit of a rip off as they charge 20€ per day for sunbeds as they do along most of the beach - cheaper to buy yourself an air bed or beach chairs and a parasol which you can do so for under 30€. We intend to pass them onto someone else when we leave.

We stayed in this place while driving along Almafi coast and found it to be an absolute gem! When we booked the 'hill side studio' for under 50 euro we were not expecting a huge kitchen/dinner with sofa, lovely big bedroom and two bathrooms. Bedroom and bathroom had stunning views. It really was a loo with a view. It was clean and had towels, extra toiletries, plus free parking - so for that kind of price, we were delighted! The town of Mairori is more of a resort town than anything too authentic, but we still had a nice meal.

It is situated on a bend in the road and you have to walk along the road to get to town, so not ideal for those with children but we found it to be perfectly safe and quiet. There is also a 'torre' just across from it (very fancy restaurant - not that we had budget to try it out!) and it looks stunning lit up at night, plus sound of waves crashing against it really making it quite atmospheric!

For a place to stay along the Almafi coast, we thought it couldn't have been better.

Room Tip: We were happy with only having sea views bedroom and bathroom but if you want the full views splash...

My fiancé and I stayed here for 4 days in June and it was the worse 4 days of our entire 17 day italian vacation. There was NO housekeeping, the shower didn't drain, we had to stop the shower every 1-2 minutes otherwise it would overflow onto the floor. The bathroom fan and hair dryer were broken. We didn't get new towels unless we paid extra €10 per person per day!!!! For 4 days that's €80.
It was incredibly noisy and located ON the main seaside hwy, no sidewalk,on a blind turn so you risked your life each time you exited the building. buses honking nonstop day and night directly below the window. Breakfast could be purchased at the adjacent hotel owned by the same company. If you like croissants and cheese with a cappuccino for €10.
The town of maiori is great! Close to Amalfi without the hustle and bustle. BUT DON'T STAY HERE. Spend a little more elsewhere in Maiori. Otherwise You will regret it.
Our accommodations across the entire southern italian peninsula were simple B&Bs and the service and accommodation in those places were outstanding.

We stayed for 3 days in May with friends in 2 apartments on 4th floor. The sea view is great but the hill view is not. I was initially shown an apartment on the 3rd floor which had only a view of a white wall which I was able to change for a room on the 4th which at least had a view of lemon trees. The location is about 500 metres out of the town on the coast road with no footpath so you need to take care when walking into town. For us it was not a problem as the road was not too busy but I would think that in mid-summer it could be more of a problem.. Maiori is a pleasant town and the location is good for visiting the Amalfi coast by bus.
The apartments were very clean and well-equipped but no cloths/detergent for dish-washing was provided which is a pity as we needed to buy from the local supermarket.. Overall, a good choice for us and I would return again but only for a room on the upper floors with sea view.

Room Tip: Choos sea view rooms on upper floors to minimise road noise.

The amalfi coast is wonderful. The APARTMENTS Due Torri are not. They are the noisiest and lack the basic facilities. TV is only italian. No clean towels. You have to search for a cleaner for toilet rolls. Bins are not emptied. No balcony - only a wall with a view of a lemon tree and some pervy local men walking by in the evening - watch out if your window blinds are not fully down!! Excursions with tour company Thompson 40 euros and then the adminision fees of 11 euros, and then shuffled into a restaurant for a pizza and salad for 15 euros - BEWARE - bring you packed lunch with you every day!! Tour rep vanished after the intro morning and excursions booked. The road is treacherous, on a bend and no footpath. Not doing themselves any favours the italians by been so unhelpful - I will go elsewhere both for tour operator and location.

Room Tip: Make sure you insist on a balcony. Beware you are on a corner and will have buses toot tooting every...

Firstly, don't confuse this hotel with it's sister version 'Hotel Club Due Torri'.

Upon arrival this hotel looks nice and clean, in a lovely location overlooking the coastline. The road outside is very dangerous and noisy.

As we checked in we were charged 30Euros, for a final clean of the room?! Why we are paying for our room to be cleaned once we have left, is beyond me.

Once we got to our apartment, it was clean and pretty spacious. Our 'Hillside Views' were that of a lemon tree! Quite ironic.

The room was cool, with AC. There was a TV with Sky, no English speaking channles bar Sky News and a few other odd News channels.

The bed was comfy enough, bit hard, there was a pair of pillows, a light blanket and a more fluffy blanket could be found in the wardrobe. There was shutters on all the windows.

The kitchen area had all items needed to make food, pots/pans, dishes etc. Annoyingly there was no kettle or toaster.

The hotel is located on a very sharp bend, with dangerous traffic right outside the doors of the hotel. So you need to be extra careful when leaving the hotel, also you need to walk along the road to get into the main town area, this walk is also dangerous, esp at night. It's a tight road with busses and lorries shooting past.

The most disappointing thing about these apartments is, you need to pay 10Euros for clean towels/bedding, which I think is terrible! Its hot weather, you shower every day and you need to pay for something that should be done for free at least once during your stay. Every hotel I have ever stayed in replaces towels/sheets for free, without hassle.

This is one of the main the reasons I would not recommend this hotel to people.

Replacement toilet roll is free though .............

Though you can't fault the scenery of Maiori , the Almalfi coast is amazing this hotel is perferct for people on a budget as it is cheap and cheerful. Just take extra money for cleaning.

Room Tip: Pay for sea views.
