“Great studio apartment”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

We stayed here for two weeks when we attended a wedding in Maiori town hall and loved it. The studio apartment was very clean and well equipped with a lovely large balcony. It contained table/chairs, kitchen area and a large king size bed. The bathroom was large with shower and bidet and toiletries. The air conditioning was good and not too noisy. The only problem we had was getting clean towels but once we reminded them in reception they were provided each time. We were in No.508 which overlooked the sea in the distance to the front and the church on the hill on the left - one of the best views in the complex we thought. The pool was large with plenty of beds and umbrellas and we preferred it to the beach which was just a short walk away. We loved the bar/restaurant called the Lemon Bar as the outside garden at the rear had a canopy of lemon trees bearing full fruit and the staff were really friendly. As it is self-catering, we found it best to take tea, coffee, sugar, salt, etc. and tea towels. We traveled on buses to Minori (though this is walkable as long as you don't mind narrow windy road uphill with drops to the sea below), Amalfi, Positano and Ravello. The buses run quite often with spectacular views and very cheap.

Room Tip: We were in No.508 which overlooked the sea in the distance to the front and the church on the hill o...

We have just returned home after week in Italy, Maiori.. What a beautiful place and lovely people. We stayed in Santa Tecla apartments, while family members stayed in Sister hotel Panarama.. We had best of both as we had breakfast in hotel every morning to the gorgeous views, and could use our cooking facilities if needed. Our studio apartment slept 3. Myself, husband and teenager daughter. This was very spacious and well equipped, and spotlessly clean, all toiletry cosmetics in complementary pack.. Maids came in every day and changed bedding and towels, and new toilet rolls each day.. ( as a self catering apartment very unusual, but an added bonus). We could not fault any thing at all. In fact I am already looking to book for Ten days next year loved it that much.. The staff were just so helpful and pleasant. The area was also lovely very quaint and picturess, little boutique shops and tiny churches, and supermarkets for all your needs. I would give my holiday 10 out of 10.. 11 even.

Room Tip: All rooms in Santa Tecla are all pool facing and sunny practically all day..

Have just returned from Maiori on the Amalfi coast having stayed in the Santa Tecla suites which is part of the Panorama hotel complex. The suites are positioned at the back of the main hotel and houses the main complex pool. The suites are spotlessly clean and have full kitchen utensils less a microwave oven.I had an open plan studio which had the bed and kitchen in the same room. The apartments have a seperate bedroom. Please note that the studios have a bigger balcony.I would highly recommend this complex to anyone visiting the area.

We spent two weeks at the apartment with a large group for our wedding, and were continually impressed by the cleanliness of the apartments and pool, and the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. The apartments are in an ideal location, i.e. away from the main road which can get a little noisy, and Maiori itself is an ideal location on the amalfi coast, as it has a beach !!!

Have stayed at santa tecla apartments for two weeks. Sadly heading home tomorro. My daughter and I had a studio apartment but it was spacious and spotless.Very well equipped, large fridge, small freezer, full Cooker, grill and hob(not used much!)
Good sized balcony overlooking the pool. We were in no 306 and we had no issues with noise or ants, apart from the nuns and choir singing from a nearby chapel which was just lovely.

Some people have said that their room was only cleaned once per week. Ours was twice a week full bedding change towels etc.
I can't emphasise enough how clean and well maintained these apts are.
Very safe and secure, free safe in room and the air conditioning is adequate.

The pool is great, never too busy, enough beds etc, also very well maintained and much attention from staff always on hand.

The panorama hotel is just around the corner and I found the staff particularly VIttoria and FIlomena very helpful re tips and advice. The bar floor as described is breathtaking with the view, I confess we never had breakfast or dinner in the hotel, tho I believe it is lovely. We went for a drink a few times tho I found Marko I think his name was, unfriendly, with poor people skills and English, wine and beer I would have thought was a universal language.!

Maiori is a perfect base, we felt like we were coming home each night after our travels and adventures.

The tabacchi is just seconds down the road were you buy your sita bus tickets, great public transport, get yourself a timetable.( I got mine of trip advisor forum.) they run every half hour and like clockwork. Work out your times, as hard hanging around in the heat. Ravello bus and sorrento/positano can be very busy.

Food in local restaurants is ok, we had some lovely lunches in other resorts with more choice. Dedalo, el dorado, mammato, la pineta all grand.

Deco and Assisi supermarkets are nearby, Deco is the nearest but Assisi does fruit and veg and has a better deli.

Lovely geletaria and fab pizzeria carry out 6 euro, just beside the hotel along with the ATM.

We made out own way from Naples airport by bus to Salerno and then changed at an odd type spot to the bus to maiori, get your bus ticket from the tabacchi across the road. The trip for both of us was about 20 euro. If your flight times suit definetely something to consider , timetables again on trip advisor amalfi forum. Our return transfer organised by hotel due to early flight is 90 euro.!

We visited everywhere, ravello, 3 times, and I'd been before.! Positano sorrento, amalfi all by bus, u can walk into minori. Capri by boat from amalfi.

Wifi is fine, bring tea towels.!

Have a wonderful holiday, if your heading to maiori and santa tecla tecla apartments I really trust that you will not be disappointed.

Tip for the hotel, it would be good if the daily hotel set menu and dinner menu were available in the foyer of the apartments. Would encourage folk to eat there and be organised given that you need to pre book.
We had a brilliant holiday , many thanks.

My girlfriend and I had originally booked to stay at the Hotel Panorama (owned by the company as these Santa Tecla apartments). However, a few days before travelling we got an email saying that we were being moved to the apartments due to an issue with the booking. At first we were dismayed, but it soon became clear we'd got a better deal.

Firstly, we were offered a free beach pass for our whole stay. We didn't realise that we would have had to pay for the beach, so this was great. The majority of the Maiori beach is sectioned off for all the various hotels. Only the two ends of the beach are free for everyone. The Panorama section of the beach has a little bar where you can get drinks from. You'll be shown to your sun lounger (with umbrella) by the friendly attendant. The beach floor might be a little stony for some near the sea, but this is to be expected due to the landscape! The beach is well maintained and we often saw the attendant packing away the loungers and raking the sand at the end of the day (I believe the beach closes at 6pm).

We picked our keys for the apartment up in the lobby of the Hotel Panorama. Everyone behind the desk is very friendly. We were shown to our apartment by Frederico (very smiley!). The apartments are a few minutes away from the hotel, a few streets back from the main promenade. I suppose some people may prefer a view of the sea from the front of the hotel, but we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the apartment (what with the Amalfi Coast to explore!) and so this wasn't an issue to us. Our balcony looked out onto the pool, which we thought was great.

When we arrived at the apartments were were greeted to a large fruit basket and a bottle of champagne. I'm not sure if this is standard, but I assume it is. Either way, it was a nice gesture and well received. From here we made our way to the hotel to have our free welcome drink (either Prosecco or a soft drink) on the rooftop terrace. A lovely way to begin our holiday.

Our apartment was so spacious compared to a hotel room. There were only two of us, yet we were given something fit for five people. The main bedroom had a double bed, single bed, wardrobe, TV, large window and a door onto the balcony. The kitchen was fully equipped (minus a tea towel and washing up liquid) with a big fridge. There was also another bedroom (separated from the kitchen by light curtains) with a sofa bed in, another TV and a door to the balcony. The bathroom was suitable, although I would have preferred a free standing shower rather than one in the bath -- but the water was always hot, so that's just a personal preference rather than a complaint. I did find the beds a bit firm, but I've since read on another TripAdvisor review that you can get a mattress topper if you ask (and I don't doubt the staff would happily provide).

The apartment itself was very clean and the maid came every day to replace our towels and make the bed. We were very impressed by this high level of maintenance.

The apartment was quiet in all but one instance. On the first night at around 2am the people next door seemed to be having trouble with their door. It sounded like someone was trying to break into our apartment! In reality, I think it was just because their door was right beside ours. The air con was also a bit noisy, but after a while you don't notice it.

The facilities on offer at the apartments and the hotel are great. The apartment has a very small lobby with a vending machine in (stocking various drinks and snacks) and a reception desk that was always empty (there are some pamphlets here and a button to call to the main desk at the hotel).

The apartment pool is large and has various water depths. The pool closes briefly during the late afternoon and then closes for the day at 6pm. I think it is cleaned every day (we saw the man a few times) and there is a shower you're instructed to use before getting into the pool. The pool is also surrounded by sun loungers, but I think if you're wanting to catch the sun then the beach offers a nicer surrounding.

There is also a pool on the top floor of the hotel. We went to this a bit late in the day which meant that the sun wasn't hitting the water. The pool is small and shallow, but it's quite nice to have a dip and take in the views as you do. This would be the better pool for that, but those looking for a proper swim would be much better off in the apartment pool.

Each morning we made our way to the rooftop bar of the hotel to have breakfast. This must be where the hotel gets its name from, since the views here are stunning. You can look out onto the water and the land while eating your breakfast. It's an absolutely brilliant way to start your day. The breakfast consists of the standard continental affair (which I like!): pastries, cereals/granola, cooked meats and eggs, bread, etc. Whenever something ran out, the staff were quick to restock it. Breakfast is open from 7am-10am, but I believe they also run something a bit later for those who aren't keen on an early wake up.

Everyone who works at the hotel is very friendly and keen to help you out. Whenever we had any questions, like how to get somewhere, they were always keen to help. I handed my postcards to them which they sent out. On our final day we had to check out at 6.30am. I told them this the day before and asked if we could have a breakfast packed up. It was no problem! When checking out, we got given a bag with a bottle of water, some pastries, toast, bread and jam.

We were both sad to leave Maiori. It is a lovely place; delicious food in a relaxing setting. If we were to come back then we'd definitely stay at either the hotel or the apartments again. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Balcony overlooking the pool seems like the best choice.

The keys for the apartment were provided by Panorama Hotel reception who took us to the apartments (2 minutes away and 2-3 minutes from the sea) which are between 2 other blocks. Room 301 that we had was on the end of the block and we did have a small sea view and overlooking the pool. We were also next to a school and it was great listening to them playing music using recorders. There is a local supermarket just behind the Panorama but they did not have any fruit/veg. This we got from a small shop on the end of the block past Panorama. Next to Panorama is a great ice cream shop and a brilliant Pizza shop next to that. What more can you ask for. The apartment was very spacious with electric roller shutters for security and ventilation if you leave patio door or windows open. The towels were nice and soft and the highpoint of my holiday was the powerful and hot shower in the apartment. There is also the free use of a safe inside the wardrobe. Our visit to Pompei and Herculanium was brilliant and our guide was great. They use "whispers" to keep you informed. The guide has a microphone and you are issued with a receiver so you can hear all the information without the guide having to compete to be heard over other guides. You can walk over the mountain from Maiori to Minori in about an hour or 10-15 minutes by road, making sure you keep to the seaward side. We also walked back from Amalfi to Minori in just over 1 hour and downhill from Ravello to Minori in about the same time. It was harder walking downhill due to the large number of steps. We took a day bus trip using the local Seta buses and this ticket cost 7.60 Euros for a 24 hour ticket. We went from Maiori to Amalfi to Sorrento to Posetano to Amalfi to Ravello. We were sorry to leave. Expect a bit of a wait to get to the airport. As Naples airport is small they have a queuing system for the bus to drop you off at terminal 1. The bus has to wait it's turn at terminal 2 and due to the length of wait we had no time to look at the shops in the airport as we had to hurry to get to our gate. All in all a brilliant holiday.
