“Hotel Torre di Milo - a good experience”
Reviewed 11 May 2012

We stayed at the Hotel Torre di Milo for 5 nights to "day trip" to Capri, Positano, Paestum, etc. (3 nights would have been enough - the Amalfi Coast is touristy and a little run down).

The staff was excellent and the breakfast was one of the best we've had in our travels to many Italian cities and towns. Enzo took great care of us at breakfast and made sure our car was safely parked. Giovanni took time to get our wifi connection going. Melena (perhaps not her name but that's what we remember) really helped us with buses, ferries, restuarants, etc. She suggested one restaurant that we loved in Tramonti but are reluctant to give you the name because tourists will destroy it. When you get to the hotel, ask her for the name.

Many of the staff spoke English.

The room was clean and with a slight view of the ocean. However, it was on a busy street. We thought that would keep us up but it didn't at all. Also, compared to other coastal towns, Maiori seemed less attractive in terms of things to see and cleanliness.

Room Tip: if you are a light sleeper, ask for a quiet room.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk down to the beach. Our room was a really great size, with a good sized bathroom. It was SUPER clean. The shower was fantastic...tons of hot water and very powerful (not often the case in Italy).

The breakfast was fantastic. We've been to a lot of places, and this was tops. We ordered cappuccini every day, and they were fabulous. Super fresh bread, cornetti and meat, as well as fresh fruit, yogurt and such. We moved to having two meals a day - a big breakfast, and then a 5 pm dinner.

I saw someone recommend Maria & Marios for a meal which is one block over on the main corso. Fantastic people.

We hit the pizzeria on the same side of the street as the hotel, almost as you hit the main beachfront street. They were super nice people too, and we had porta a via (to go) pizzas down on the boardwalk twice!!

It's an economic hotel, but it is very clean and the personnel is very nice. They offer you parking free of charge, it is not very confortable because is very tight, but if you are renting a car to drive through the Amalfi coast you will appreciate it.
Rooms are very confortable although be careful with noises, walls are very sensitive to sounds.
The breakfast was good, specially the fruits they served.

Wifey and i had a quick one night stop over here during a brief visit to the Amalfi coast. We drove here after visiting Pompeii and got to the hotel via Sorrento, narrow roads on the way to Maiori. Finally got to Hotel Torre di Milo late afternoon and managed to park right in front of reception, albeit blocking 2 other cars in, so after checking in with a friendly clerk, i was shown where to park (down a steep ramp into a garage across the road). Room was spacious with nice clean bathroom and linen. Elevator was handy, although rather small. We slept well considering the couple next door to us were rooting like rabbits for a good hour. Didn't dine in at the restaurant nor try out the bar. Would stay again but perhaps take the bus next time.

Room Tip: Want a bite to eat close to the hotel?? Well dine in at Mario & Marias Pizzeria!! The best servi...

One of the nicest hotels we stayed in in Italy - everything worked, it was clean, and breakfast was great. Also in a wonderful location to explore Maiori, and having parking on the Amalfi Coast was amazing. We especially appreciated the surprise complimentary bottle of local wine left in our room by the staff

We were very impressed by our stay in the hotel. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The front desk was very helpful, and we even had a bottle of wine left for us the last night in our room. The only drawback was the difficulty parking - we ended up in the garage, which was not to easy to get out of. Luckily, we didn't need our car during our stay except to arrive and leave. Overall, a very good value for the money!
