“Wonderful Views...Great Service...Mixed Room Sizes!!”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

We stayed as a family group in September for our daughters wedding.
The reservations were made directly with the hotel and were dealt with efficiently.
As other reviews the hotel is out of the town and until you go there you do not realise how far and how high above the lake you are......
A car is required although Taxi's were not a problem and my family made use of the local bus.. which only runs three times a day to town.
On check in two small bottles of local wine were delivered to the room... a nice touch.
Our room (Although small.. see below) had a huge balcony with a table and chairs and relaxers and the most stunning view over Lake Garda...
The staff were always friendly and on hand to assist, although there were sometimes communication problems with the front desk. Having said that the Manager (Owner?) was excellent and could not have done enough for us. We tried once to arrange food at 5pm for the Grandchildren, only to be told that was not possible (we only wanted pasta!!)... however as soon as the Manager arrived so did the food...communication error??
The breakfast was excellent and served both inside and on the terrace (weather permitting).. we did not book half board but did pre-arrange a family meal one evening. Based on the menu we had (whilst not that cheap) was excellent, again many thanks to the restaurant staff at both breakfast and dinner!! We also arranged cold plates for the family who arrived after the kitchen had closed... it was excellent and if you are arriving late... perhaps something you can arrange before you arrive.
The hotel has a play area for children with swings, trampolene etc.
The views from the hotel as you expect from its location were stunning.
The garden area for relaxation is highly recommended.

Plus Points:
Location -if you have a car
Very friendly staff
Breakfast
Price compared to other hotels in the town...
Child Safe
The Views from the Hotel....
Minor Niggles:
The room sizes are very mixed... we had room 307? overlooking the lake ... so small my right leg is still suffering from banging the side of the bed getting to the wardrobe and into bed. On the other hand my family had rooms large enough to accomodate extra beds and cots for the children.. room 308 is huge!
Child freindly garden but not Child friendly restaurant for Dinner - unless the manager is on duty!!
Location - if you do not have a car.

Overall:
An excellent stay and would recommend the hotel if you do want to be sleeping next to a busy road. Breakfast was excellent and home prepared. VERY freindly and helpful staff..... Would we visit again... yes but would avoid room 307!!

Room Tip: Pay that little extra for a Lake View Room

Lovely alpine style building with grounds and attractive pool overlooking truly beautiful views of Lake Garda. We were very pleased that we had booked to stay at Querceto, which we found restful and relaxing away from the bustle of the local town. Our room, though not large, was comfortable and very clean. The manager and staff were always extremely pleasant and helpful. We had booked half board, but were surprised to find that this also included a light lunch in the hotel or had packed lunch provided on days we went out. Breakfast and dinner were delcious every day of the week of our stay, Most meals were taken on the attractive verandah overlooking the wonderful views, though on two occasions when it was a little chilly to eat outside we enjoyed the atmosphere of the cosy restaurant. We did not have a car, but when we wanted to go further afield the local bus service from just outside the hotel was fine and not expensive. Altogether an excellent holiday.

We stayed for one week in July and enjoyed amazing views, excellent service in a clean and comfortable hotel.
The meals were served well in a relaxing way and we enjoyed the stunning views whilst we ate.
The grounds and ample seating/lounging areas and warm pool allowed us to have a relaxing time at the hotel.
We used the bus which stops just outside and enjoyed our trips into the town and then various boat trips etc.
We were pleased we stayed out of town and would recommend this delightful hotel.
The staff made us very welcome and looked after us well.

We loved the hotel, it was up endless winding roads, rewarded with stunning views when we reached the top.
The staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable in a traditional Alpine style.
Lovely swimming pool and gardens to lounge around in and enjoy the views of lake Garda.
Breakfast was a treat, especially out on the veranda.
The dinner was wholesome ,if a little old fashioned !
We happy we chose this position on the hillside rather than down in the town, but you do need a car.

Hotel Querceto is a very quiet hotel in one of the best town along lake Garda. The staff is very service minded and helpfull. The scenery from the little park surounding the hotel is breathtaking. Futhermore, the pool and lounge chairs makes this hotel perfect for relaxation.
BUT, this hotel is strangely overpriced and does not fullfill its potetial. The hotel tries to stand out as a luxerious 4 star hotel among many 3 star hotels in the area, but fails on the basics. The local food and restaurants at Malcesine is fantastic, yet this hotel cant seem to deliver a decent plate of food. Furthermore, the price for an less then satisfying meal is rediculasly high compared to any other restaurant in town. The little caffeteria just across the street from the hotel is 10 times better and twice as cheap.
While the location of the hotel provides stunning views, you really need a car to get around. Its not far to the mount Baldo lift or hard to get on a local bus, but it is very inconveniant. Malcesine is great, but Lake Garda and Verona is a lot easier to reach in your own car. This location is not worth 180 euros a night either. No matter where you are located around the lake, you will have a great scenery.
So, hire the old lady from the reataruant across the street, and make her take her menu and prices with her. Make Malcesine more accessable by offering a minibus that can drive guest to and from Malcesine for free 2-3 times a day, aswell as Verona or Montova(outlets) for a fair price. Considder getting a simple gym. Make a deal with the local SPA lady, that the owner allready knows and recommend. Until these few changes are done, this hotel is far from a 4 star hotel and way to expensive.

Room Tip: The hotel staff can help you with almost anything, they just for some reason has not organized any s...

I stayed at the Park Hotel Querceto with my fiance last week for 7 nights and we had a great time. The hotel itself is lovely, definitely worth the 4 stars as it's clean and has all the amenities. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was lovely. The only criticism there is that the wine is expensive. The food itself is well priced however the total bill will mount up with any alcohol (beer is around 5 Euro and the cheapest wine is 20 Euro).

We stayed in a lake view room and the view was absolutely stunning, a real picture postcard. I will add the panoramic picture that I took to the photos when I am done reviewing. You won't be disappointed if you choose a lake view room. The air-conditioning worked very well on the hot days, it cooled the room quickly and evenly and did not make too much noise. The fridge was stocked (though again, expensive drinks) every day and the room cleaned/freshened every day too. We ate breakfast in the hotel a few times as it came included within our room and again, it was lovely. There was a lot of choice for breakfast so something for everyone including fussy eaters like myself and my partner!

The pool was clean however it was VERY cold. It says on the website that it is heated to 35 degrees - this is not the case. We went down to the pool on one of the hot days of our holiday and although my partner jumped in, he was out again straight away and I could only dip my toe - FAR too cold to swim in comfortably. We didn't complain about this but had we stayed longer, we might have. Also - the pool area was very quiet - no music or anything playing - so nobody spoke to each other and it felt a little clinical, like a doctors waiting room but the views were stunning it has to be said - and the area clean.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The lady who works there does not speak any English so it's a little difficult communicating if you need something and she's the only one there but the others do. We needed an iron (as we were attending a friends wedding during our stay) and it was provided promptly after a conversation with the manager. We needed a taxi for the morning of the wedding and if you need one - I would suggest ordering it for MUCH earlier than you really require it as despite ordering ours the day before we needed it, it was 45 minutes late. Luckily we had given ourselves plenty of time so we weren't late but had we not pre thought it out, we wouldn't have got to the wedding ceremony on time.

Finally - I would absolutely recommend having a rental car if you plan to stay here. In hindsight, we would not have booked this hotel and would have stayed in the town instead as that's where our wedding friends were and they could simply walk to the restaurants and bars from their hotels whereas there is absolutely no way we could have done - it would have taken about 2 hours I think. The hotel is about 5k up a mountain, literally. It takes 15 minutes to drive down to the town and then you have to pay to park (we spent about 50 Euro just on parking this holiday) if you're able to find a space. If you're happy with driving and don't mind the distance, stay here, the views are worth it. If you prefer somewhere with easy access to Malcesine, stay in the town.

PROS:
Beautiful, breathtaking views over Lake Garda.
Quiet hotel, quiet pool area.
Very clean and tidy, room refreshed daily.
Food lovely, plenty of choice of wine.

CONS:
Expensive room rate (£130+ a night for two people sharing).
A little too quiet making it a little uneasy in areas.
Expensive alcohol.
Not within walking distance of, well, anything really.

In conclusion; The hotel is lovely and the staff are friendly. Stay here if you're looking for a lovely relaxing holiday and don't mind driving to/from the town or if you're using it as a base to visit other places around Lake Garda. If you want to be able to walk into town and don't mind not having the amazing views that this place provides then choose somewhere closer/cheaper in Malcesine.
