Very good location, just by the cable car and a few minutes walk down to the town centre and sea side.Very friendly and engaged staff, both in the breakfast room and at the reception desk. The eco-friendly room was very modern, with an amazing view of the castle, town and the mountains on the other side of the lake. Some initial trouble with the wi-fi but was fixed quickly when pointed out. The only draw back was the lack of wi-fi in the room. There was an offer for free walks with a guide three days a week, which we sadly couldn´t use due to the weather. The staff spoke english very well.

Room Tip: The eco-room were all on the third follor facing towards the lake with good view and disturbance fro...

We were married in Malcesine last September and our Hotel Ariston room had a wonderful view of the lake and castle (where the marriage was performed). Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

This was the last night of a 4 night whistle stop tour of Northern Italy. Great little hotel, family run and extremely clean.

The hotel appears to be quite new and there are some really cool design features, good sized rooms and we actually had a great view of the castle.

The location is excellent and with on site parking it is ideal, as a car is not needed in the town.

Just arrived from a one week stay in Lago di Garda! stayed in the Ariston in Malcesine because what attracted me was the new chain of "Green environmentally friendly" hotels springing around on the globe, since I do feel quite strongly about what we can do to improve the world for tomorrow's generation, and this hotel is certainly doing its bit - It follows 15 Green Rules which hopefully in future other hotels will follow suit too!
We had a very spacious, fantastic corner room with 2 balconies on the 2nd floor sunny side, with a view of the Castle, Lake and mountains and with a bottle of Chardonnay, what else could one ask for! Well the hotel is family run, very friendly and helpful which made our trip even more pleasant with all the tips we were given. They even have a small corner with Bio, organic breakfast should anyone require this! Staff was very friendly and the owner Laura, so kind she gave us a breakfast tray with coffee in a thermos, croissants, etc because we had a very early morning start for our trip back. Would go back there again without any shadow of a doubt!

Room Tip: Lake, castle and Mountain view rooms, the higher the better!

My wife and I were lucky to be invited to share our friends wedding at Malcesine Castle and I cannot talk highly enough of the hotel or location.

The hotel is modern and very well situated a stones throw from the cable car up to Monte Baldo and the village itself which is truly beautiful and steeped in history. The rooms are modern, fresh and boast the most magnificent views I have seen anyway onto the castle and Lake Garda beyond. The bathroom was gorgeous and large walk in shower you did not want to leave. Safe came in handy and large veranda/balcony was perfect to sit and soak up the 40 degrees sun and the stunning views. One night we had a fantastic thunder/lightning storm and we watched with cider in hand as huge bolts of lightning came down striking the mountains in the distance, wow wow wow.

Nearby the village boasted lovely walks and restaurants although every menu seemed the same for some reason. I have never tasted such beautiful ice cream though and had my favourite mint choc chip cone every day lol.

You could choose a relaxing or active trip here there's that much to do. We were there to relax and enjoy a special occasion with friends and had a few nice boat trips on Lake Garda and over to Limone which was equally as beautiful and historic a village as Malcesine. For the active type there was mountain biking, water sports, hiking, climbing, fishing, paragliding and much more.

I was so sad to say goodbye to this stunning part of the world. Quite simply you have to go!

Room Tip: go for top floor room with views of the castle, you wont be disappointed

Choose a room on the 3rd floor for the best view in town, looking towards the lake and castle. Absolutely stunning through the panoromic window and balcony. A small, family run hotel so don't expect a lot in the way of facilities but it is only a couple of minutes walk into the town with some great places to eat and drink which are not too expensive. Our room was an Eco friendly room, very smart, comfortable including the beds and the hotel is kept spotlessly clean. It would be difficult to find a nicer place to stay. A good continental breakfast with plenty of choice. A nice garden and jacuzzi to relax in after a hard days sightseeing! Malcesine is a lovely place to stay and a good base. Free wifi available in the lounge area and garden. Not cheap but definately worth it and we will be back!
