“Amazing views, great food”
Reviewed 2 June 2009

We stayed in one of the ground floor apartment rooms but had meals at the hotel which was adjacent. The apartment was spacious with a double bedroom, dining/kitchen and bathroom and patio. Everything about the hotel was excellent. It is a family run hotel and all the staff are friendly and helpful.
On the Sunday evening they served a gala dinner which included cocktails at 6.30 and nibbles on the terrace, followed by a four course meal (at 7.30) which was excellent and at no extra cost.
The rooms were spotless and were cleaned every day with fresh towels.
There was a wide choice for breakfast - 3 different types of cereals, several types of bread, toast, fruit, yogurt, eggs, meats, cheese, fruit juices, tea, coffee, cakes, pastries etc
For dinner there was a choice of 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 or 4 desserts. We were asked to make our choices the day before.
Other reviewers have commented about traffic noise and our apartment was the closest to the road of any of the rooms. You are well above the road and sitting on the patio you can hear a slight drone of traffic at certain times of the day but it is not at all disturbing. In fact I didn't even notice it until I remembered that some people had mentioned it in reviews - and I am used to living in a very quiet area.
The staff asked what time we needed to leave for our departure flight as they did not want us to miss breakfast and offered an earlier breakfast (without being asked).
We booked through Inghams and found their reps excellent also.

Could not fault anything, The Hotel was great better than expected. Very clean. The rooms were cleaned every day. The food was excellent something to suit every tastes. The staff very helpful and friendly and all could speak English. Very short distance to the lake side where there are lovely walks. The centre was quaint with nice shops restaurants and bars. The weather could not have been better

My Wife and I stayed at the Hotel Capri for a week having booked through Thomson Lakes & Holidays.

The hotel is situated on the main lake road running from Verona, and is about a five to ten minute walk into Malcesine. From arrival we were made to feel welcome by all of the staff (I understand this is a family run hotel) and we were given a large room on the ground floor.

We had a lake view from our balcony and the view was simply breath taking. The balcony was of a good size and featured a controllable canopy which was essential for the afternoon sun!

Our room was of a large size with plenty of storage. It had a very comfortable bed, a TV with predominantly Italian and German channels, a fridge for your use and a safe that was free to use. The bathroom was excellent with a good power shower and a decent hairdryer. Our room was cleaned daily and to a high standard.

Our stay was on a half board basis which normally we aren't too bothered about as we like to eat out in the evening, but it speaks volumes for the hotel that we ate there every night. The choice of food was varied and was presented extremely well. Breakfast too was good with an excellent choice available.

The hotel offers a computer with broadband internet that is free to use and has a decent library of books that I made good use of.

It has a good pool which is a tad on the small side but cleaned daily. There is also a fitness suite/gym, a sauna and a jacuzzi.

The hotel is quiet and perfect for a romantic getaway!

Just come back from a week at the Hotel Capri with my partner as we were out in malcesine for a wedding. We had a wonderful time and a truly memorable holiday and were so glad we booked this hotel even though our friends and family stayed at the Hotel Meridiana which is closer to town. We had a gorgeous view of the lake from our balcony and were very impressed with the cleanliness of the whole place and absolutely loved the small gym and the wellness spa in particular which includes sun loungers, a jacuzzi and brand new sauna. There are also bikes the hotel provide which you can use along the promenade.
The hotel itself is about a 10 min stroll into town and we used to walk along the prom as the road itself tends to be busy. There is also a spar supermarket about a 5-10 min walk into town along the busy road.
we only ate in the hotel on our first night as we had to meet the others in the group and also like to eat out a lot but the food was excellent. we ate breakfast every day which was lovely and plenty of choice of boiled/scrambles eggs, ham, cheese, breads, cakes and fresh fruits etc. also plenty of coffee/tea. I would recommend eating in the hotel at least a few times as it is only 14 eur for about 4 courses which is really cheap compared to eating out. The views from the terrace are truly stunning. The only criticism i would have if i was to be picky is that you have to eat between 7-8pm or at least be down by 8pm to eat which was a bit early for us sometimes as we like to be out all day. Breakfast again is served 7.30am-9.30am which again is a bit early for us but well worth getting up for. There is a lovely walk along the front on the prom if you head left into a tiny village called cassetto?? or something similar which takes about an hr. There is alovely old windmill there and hosts the smallest river in the world. Also try a boat trip to limone from the harbour as it was well worth it.
The only thing left to say is that i would strongly recommend this hotel. I visited the meridiana when i was there and found the owners unhelpful and very surly unklike the owner/s staff at the Capri. Also found out that they were charging 14eur extra just to use the sauna there which is ridiicilous. I'd like to thank Emile and Marco for all their help during our stay and there is no doubt that we will def go back sometime in the future, thanks guy's for a wonderful holiday.

I stayed in the top apartment and it was a brilliant choice!
The view was great (you could see part of the main road but if you took one step back all you could see was the lake). The main road was noisey in the day - but at night you had airconditioning so you could shut the windows (I would advise because of mossys).
The place was newly decorated and had everything you needed, a mini kitchen area which you could close off was great, large lounge area and large bedroom area with lots of wardrobe space.
Hospitality of the staff was lovely, they were very helpful and curteous.
Breaky was good, very nice.
Only problem was sky tele had only Italian and German channels which was a bit mean - just missed being able to come in at night and watch a film - but no big deal!
I would def stay here again.

A modern, well equipped hotel with up to date decor and good sized, clean bedrooms with excellent firm beds. The staff were friendly and ready to help with any problems. The food was excellent with a good selection at breakfast and of a consistently high standard in the evenings. Also, the hotel was well situated with good views of the lake from the terrace and easy access to walks (both up the mountain and along the lakeside). The centre of Malcesine (for ferries, buses and the cablecar) was just a few minutes walk away.
A couple of minor quibbles. It was noisy during the day because of the busy lakeside road (a common problem for all the hotels in and around Malcesine I would imagine) and at breakfast you had to make your own toast (a slow process) and hot drinks (if like me you are particular about your coffee just try one of the wide range of teabags on offer instead).
