We have just returned from a week in Hotel Castello (07/9 -14/9). We arrived in lake garda, tired, hungry and lost at 11pm on the Saturday, after a quick call to Marco he came and found us and took us to the hotel, on arrival it was nearly time for them all to go home and they still couldn't help enough, they fed and watered us, all with smiles. The room we stayed in (302) was a delux room, not full of character but extremely clean, well equipped and a view to die for. The following morning we got to appreciate the amazing setting, which could not have been better. We choose to go half board due to the very reasonable cost, we thought if we didn't like it we could eat out. 5 courses for 15 euros! It was better than we had hoped for, you chose 2 of the courses the night before, again the service was great. The waiters were brilliant, and all the staff knew your likes, within a day! We visited a lot of the lake during our stay and we both agreed not only was the hotel great, Malcesine with all of its winding cobbled streets and boutique shops was the best location.
We have stayed in many hotels and there is always small niggles you do not like, and I was worried about this trip as we had already had to cancel two holidays due to family emergencies and we both wanted a real indulgent holiday, this was expensive and although the reviews were good we were slightly worried about what to expect, in terms of quality of accommodation, hotel facilities etc. However for the first time ever we couldn't find any niggles not to like, it was perfect and a large part of that was the amazing service given by everybody. It was just what we needed thank you so much, we will be back.
