This hotel is simply amazing. We booked back in April and stayed for 5 nights in August.
I also emailed the hotel in advance with our flight details and they arranged transfers for us- it was 22 euros per person each way- great value and spot on service.
The reason for our visit was because we had a wedding at the castle in Malcesine. We arrived fairly late on the Saturday evening, and we welcomed immediately and shown to our superior room. Our balcony was on the side of the hotel, so we were not overlooked from either side. The castle was right in front of us and to the other side was Monte Baldo. It was just amazing to look at. We were even offered a snack after asking where we could find something to eat.
The hotel itself is immaculate, the rooms, bar, breakfast room, poolside- all spotless. The gardens are beautiful and surrounded by lovely olive trees. The room had a lovely large wardrobe and safe. The bathroom had a hairdryer too. The views from the balcony and the bar are just stunning, the lake itself is so clear (although a bit cold!) and on an evening you can see the lights twinkling along the mountains.
Breakfast was included and there was plenty of choice each morning.
Although they do not cater for evening meals, they do offer some snacks.
There is also air conditioning in the room that is charged per day.
Directly opposite the entrance to the hotel is the entrance for the Monte Baldo cable car and just a 5 minute walk down the hill to Malcesine centre, which is full of cobbled streets (take more than flip flops!), and traditional Italian bars, shops and restaurants.
This was our first trip to Italy, and I would have no hesitation on returning to this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view. The other side looks directly onto Monte Baldo so is equally as impressive.

Just recently returned from our 11 days stay in the hotel Augusta returning Wednesday 20th August lovely location we had a side lake view which was a wonderful view over looking the lake and castle. Rooms were cleaned daily and spotless. Very good Buffet breakfast with lots of choice. The pool area were beautiful set in middle of a olive tree garden. The Beneditti family are very friendly and welcoming. The Augusta is ideal location in Malcesine just a few minutes walk to the main ferry point and restaurants. Recommend very highly

Room Tip: We paid extra for a side lake view but well worth it. Views were stunning

My wife booked us into the Augusta for a week finishing on Wednesday 20th August. The hotel is family run and maintained to a very high standard. It only caters for bed and breakfast hence the 3 start rating but staying here is a pleasant experience. The Beneditti family are very involved in the running of it. Our room was on the first floor and looked out to the hills and faced Mount Baldo which is accessed by the Funivia. As previously mentioned Marina is a stalwart at reception and whenever we returned to the hotel she was on duty. The room itself was what you would expect and always clean. Plenty of wardrobe space and of course the expected safe. It is a very quiet hotel. The pool was always clean and when the sun shone fully used. Breakfast was a buffet type with lots of choice. A worthwhile hotel to visit.

Room Tip: The hotel does have wifi but unless you are in specific areas it is hard to get. They also have a co...

This hotel is a great place to stay. Very clean, great location right opposite the gondola and close to the castle. Staff are great too. A very good breakfast. A swimming pool with lots of deck chairs set in a nice yard. A great experience. Recommend highly.

Just returned from our second stay at the Hotel Augusta, it was lovely before and has stayed just as good. Spotlessly clean, friendly service run by a great family. I must mention Marina who is the reception stalwart. She seems to speak every language known to man, perhaps not quite, but you take my meaning. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she is a great asset to the hotel. Always polite and friendly, greeted us like long lost friends when we had not seen her for a year, it makes such a difference. Very sad to come back to the UK.

We stayed at Hotel Augusta in June for two nights. It is conveniently located just a block or so outside the busy Malcesine city center. We parked our car in the free, on-site parking and never used it until we checked out. Hotel Augusta is across the street from the Funivia (gondola) that goes up Mount Baldo and a 5 minute walk from the castle, shopping, cafes and the Lake Garda waterfront. The first thing you notice is the scent of jasmine everywhere. It is magical. The economy room we chose was small, but completely adequate for our tourist needs and very clean. The A/C was pay by the night (6 Euros) and for us, worth every penny. The owners made us feel very welcome and answered all of our questions in a mix of Italian, German and English. Behind the hotel, it felt like we were in someone's backyard, lying in comfortable lounge chairs, nestled among olive trees, swimming in a large, clean pool. There was also an outdoor bowling alley, pingpong table and some playground equipment, so it felt quite homey and family friendly. New to the property is an open air, indoor jacuzzi, lap pool and restrooms with a fabulous walk-in shower. Breakfast was typical European buffet - fresh, filling and delicious. I would go here again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Lower level rooms are cheaper with no grand view, but have easier access to pool and parking.

The rooms, gardens and facilities at Augusta are delightful and unlike most hotels in Malcesine there is a reasonable amount of free parking. As mentioned elsewhere the hotel is spotlessly clean.
What stops the Augusta getting 5 stars is that the rooms at one end of the main building are very close to the road and incredibly noisy (roadsweeper at 7.30!). There was also a problem when we stayed and some rooms lost hot water. Whilst this can happen anywhere, the attitude of the staff was that it wasn't their fault so the guests just had to put up with it! No refunds, apologies or compensation.
