We booked this hotel/guesthouse 2 weeks before we travelled there. The reviews on Trip Advisor made it easy to decide where to stay. We couldnt get a room with a view but we had a very comfortable room next to the dining room. I have back problems and I found the bed very comfortable. As you sit round the pool, you can watch the cable cars going up and down. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the town centre, where you will find plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and the very pretty harbour, where you can catch a boat to other parts of the lake. Breakfast is served between 8 and 10am, we slept so well, that we often didnt wake up until after 9am so it was good to have the breakfast until 10. This hotel is very good value. Melcesine is a stunning location and we would recommend this hotel for your stay there.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay @ this hotel. Rooms were very clean, air conditioning very welcome (automatically starts when all windows are shut).

Our rooms were on top floor so offered good views of surrounding lake, castle and beautiful mountains.

Breakfast was very good and set you up well for the 10 minute stroll into Malcesine old town. Snacks are available all day from the bar.

The pool was well maintained and the water quality checked every day. The depth is ideal for children with basic swimming skills from about 8 upwards. Younger children will need supervision.

The cable car to Monte Baldo is 5 minute walk away, word of advice - pick a CLEAR day (have a good look at the top of the mountain and prevailing clouds) and get there EARLY as the queues can be well over two hours waiting time!

Massimo and the rest of the hotel staff are very helpful and will try their best to provide advice to make the most of your holiday. Make sure you use the discount cards available from reception. He arranged for transfer between airport and hotel and gave us a lift from the town to the hotel (and visa versa).

We fully agree with other reviews of this hotel. 4 & 5 star hotels may be preferred by some - we think this provided much more simple and homely accommodation at a more reasonable price.

Restaurants to try include Hotel Alpino (Alla Cassa)

We recommend this hotel and Malcesine as your base for your holiday on Lake Garda.

Room Tip: Close all windows to activate air conditioning.

We stayed at this hotel based on the recommendations on this site and we weren't disappointed. We had a first floor room with views over the castle and lake and the views from the pool were equally stunning.
Our room was comfortable - a bit tight for space but we had three beds as our daughter shared - but otherwise fine. The room was cleaned every day and the beds made with a sweet left on each pillow (much to our daughter's delight!)
Breakfast was lovely with excellent coffee and eggs of your choice with plenty of breads, cheese ham etc as well as fruits and yoghurts.
Was realy surprised with how reasonable the bar prices were - we had a really nice bottle of Presecco one night for €14 - try and find a hotel in England where you'd get that!!

Room Tip: First or second floor rooms are best so you can enjoy the views

We chose this hotel based on TA reviews and as usual were not disappointed! We had a lovely room exactly as described. Location was perfect, the pool a huge asset. Breakfast was plentiful only recommendation I would make is to get rid of the juice machine!
Massimo was an excellent host and went out of his way to be helpful. He gave of his time freely and his restaurant recommendations were excellent and greatly added to the success of our holiday. A big thank you to the Bertuzzi family.! We will be back!

Room Tip: Try for a first or second floor room
