Just returned from Malcesine and the Hotel Alpino,.with three friends. Cannot add anything that has not been documented by other guests. Must add our trips out. Found a brochure for trips by mini-bus and went on the Northern lake and Verona trip. Brilliant. Our driver was Luca who was both informative and professional. I am sure Patrizia will have details

Just back from a week in Malcesine (Lake Garda) where we stayed at the Hotel Alpino. Although rated as two stars, this hotel has a standard of service, cleanliness and friendlyness which could put some other more highly rated hotels to shame. Its position near the harbour and in the old town made getting around very easy and having its own resaurant attached was very convenient.
This maybe only a two star hotel but we thought it was exceptional.
Patrizia and her husband Domenico who own the hotel were brilliant ,nothing was too much trouble for them..
We ate at the hotel a couple of nights and found the food to be excellent
The food & wine were very reasonably priced plus 10% discount as guests as well as a complimentary limoncello.
The restaurant was almost full every night when some of the other restaurants in Malcesine were empty. (Speaks volumes)
The town of Malcesine is one where visitors should take time to explore every nook and crany.
A particular delight was the free open air operatic concert held on board the old sailing boat Siora Veronica (Lady Veronica) in Malcesine harbour.
We would certainly recommend Malcesine (Mal-Ches-In-Ay) to our friends and in Particular, The Hotel Alpino.

Room Tip: People tend to gather to chat before going to bed just outside room 106 as it's at the top of th...

This maybe only a 2 star hotel but we thought it was a superstar for our weeks holiday with friends in May.
Patrizia and her husband Domenico were the perfect hosts ,nothing was too much trouble for them.
The hotel is perfectly placed in the centre of the most picturesque town on this side of Lake Garda. The cleanliness and service was second to none.
We ate every night in the hotel and found the menu almost too good to be true.
The food & wine were excellent and very reasonably priced .( our bill for 4 adults every night never exceeded 50 euros and of course we received a 10% discount as guests )
The staff were brilliant and must mention Adriana who was exceptional. The restaurant was almost full every night when some of the other restaurants in Malcesine were empty.
Patrizia introduced us to a marvellous taxi service run by Luca Lombardi ( tel.+39 348 3184353)
who took us to Verona and acted as guide through this wonderful city and also drove us to the North Lakes above Garda where the views and villages were stunning.
Luca became our friend and he drove us to Peschiera for our journey home.
We can also recommend the cable car ride up to the top of Monte Baldo (dont forget to take a warm jacket ), Limone was perhaps our most favourite place and the boat service across the lake from Malcesine was very regular and not expensive.
The town of Malcesine is like a rabbit warren of small cobbled streets with a little jewel of a restaurant or shop around every corner, visitors should take time to explore.
One of the delights of our stay was the free open air operatic concert held on board the old sailing boat in Malcesine harbour.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food in the restaurant was excellent bar 1night when we went elsewhere ,we ate in very night , the position of hotel was in the square and so convenient for the lake and ferries, cable car ,and the bus and strolling up to castle through the cobbled streets with lots of little shops and bars ,lovely , if you like quaint places nice people, walking and visiting such pretty towns around the lake,or day trips to verona or venice hotel alpino is the place for you , you wont be disappointed with your choice

Great Hotel...very hospitable, right in the center of all the action. Staff was very nice, kind and friendly and spoke English well.

Had an awesome time in Malcesine and thanks to the hotel. Highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose the quiet room away from the restaurant. We did just that and it was very nice.

This hotel is a little gem in beautiful Malcesine. The hotel is in a prime location close to everything. The service is excellent. The hotel is always very clean, staff is helpful and polite and the food is great. Breakfast was plentiful and was included in price. Patrizia on reception was always so helpful and pleasant. Malcesine is such a beautiful place and having this little gem to stay, we will defiantly think to go back in the future.

We travelled to Malcesine in April to celebrate a family wedding and booked into the Hotel Alpino as a large family group age range 7mths to 75. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by Dominico, Patrizia and the rest of the staff. The rooms were adequately equipped and cleaned daily with free safety deposit box and air con/heating. Kettles were also provided immediately on request I also required access to a fridge to store medicines again this was provides with no extra charge. The Hotel was kept spotlessly clean. They also have an ironing room available to guests. Breakfast is continental style but we always managed to find something to eat. 10% discount is given to hotel guests eating in the restaurant, we ate there twice and food was delicious on both occasions, the complimentary drink that Dominico offered also went down a treat! The hotel is classed as 2 star but we were definitely given 5 star treatment. Hotel Alpino is in a perfect central location close to the bus station and the waterfront, ideal for sightseeing. The views in Malcesine are beautiful and the whole party agreed we had never been to anywhere so outstandingly picturesque! Everything about this trip was amazing the hotel, the resort, the company and the fairy tale wedding at the castle! Would love to go back again.
