Good location but you need help to park your car since it is on a one way street.Staff is very friendly and speak good English . Easy walking distance to city center. We had a suite but I am not sure I would call it that.It was a good space double room with a nice terrace, but the bathroom was on the small side and the view was a bit dissapointing. We had a big gray building straight in front of us that spoiled the view completely .But oh what a breakfast! One of the best we have ever had in a hotel! Everything freshly baked! Bacon, eggs, lots of different local fruit, fresh juices, great coffee in short: everything you could wish for! The pool area wasn't, the biggest, but very clean and set in a lovely garden! The whole hotel area was clean and inviting . You could feel the history of the place as you walked in the corridors ! Highly recommended .

Room Tip: This is not a hotel to choose if you have a moving disability. No elevators and lots of stairs going...

This hotel has a great location looking over Maratea and I would recommend you get a deluxe room with a balcony so you can enjoy the view and the church bells. There is something missing in this hotel and I am not sure what. The staff were very helpful, the room was perfectly fine. However, the ambiance was somewhat restrained and sombre particularly in the restaurant in the evening and at breakfast. The evening meal was well enough executed but seemed like hotel food while the breakfast was rather disappointingly the same every day with yogurt served in plastic containers and insipid coffee - which is unusual in Italy. If the the effort made with the food was improved, the hotel would hit a spot it is currently missing. You can go swimming in the pool but better to go to La Secca which is a pretty beach club and do take the half day boat trip which can be booked by reception - it is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and you will swim in some very lovely caves.

We stayed for 2 nights during June. The room was excellent and the staff were very helpful.
Their parking is free, which is very useful in Italy. We had great views of the town from the room and the breakfast was also very good. The evening meal seemed to be pricey but is supposed to be of very good quality.

Maratea itself is a nice small town, with a statue of Christ the Redeemer on then hill above. Its a must see. Similarly the coast and the inland valleys are worth visiting. We had a great stay.

Room Tip: The deluxe rooms have views of the town and a balcony. Well worth a little extra.

The LLDDM is perfectly located, a 5 minute walk down to the center of lively town--one night fireworks, the next political speeches from EU candidates--and a beautiful walk (45 minutes) through the pine trees up the hill to the statue of Christ the Redeemer. There is a beautiful view of the town and the mountains from the terrace of room #10 (Converse) which also has a huge tiled bathroom with both shower and antique tub plus some intriguing Moroccan furniture.
The strongest point is the friendly helpful service (especially Loradonna who speaks excellent English). We had some trouble finding the hotel so we just parked our car and walked; the bell hop took are car keys, put it in their parking lot, and brought our luggage up to our room. The pool is lovely with great views of the mountains and monastery. We did not enjoy dinner at the restaurant (preferred more informal places down in town) but the breakfasts were very good.
Without the upgrade, the room would have been a little expensive--TA reviews suggest that some rooms are small.

We stayed three nights at the LLDDM and enjoyed every minute. Our room had a huge balcony with great views. Check in was fantastic and the owners are just wonderful. The fitness room was simple and I was thrilled to use the treadmill. Maratea is a quaint little town and quite charming which takes one back in time!

Room Tip: They are all different. Our room with a large balcony was wonderful.

A very good five night stay in the LDMC at the beginning of June, quiet following the bank holday. Outstanding service, both in the hotel from the family and from Antonio in the restaurant, which has the best food in town and an excellent wine cellar. The historic centre of Maratea is 5 minutes walk away, with Maratea porto, with it's attractive harbour and restaurants, about 15 minutes drive, although several were closed at this time of year. There are stunning views from the Borgo next to the Redontore statue. The hotel has an arrangement with the lido at La Seca, were they give a voucher for sunbeds and an umbrella. Beautiful flowers and swimming in a small inlet from the rocks, there is also a bar. Downside! the hotel is on several levels and the walk to the car park and town is steep, with lots of steps.
